Bonchon

picked up an online order and there was initially no one at the host stand when i arrived. there was a shelf with packaged orders near the host stand that i could access, too. i didnt want to snoop around and take my order without permission, but in my defense there was no one around! and my food was sitting right there looking so scrumptious! so i did look at the ticket to check if it was mine (it was), and by that point someone came over to help me. i ordered the sesame ginger salad with fried tofu, and the tteokbokki. loved the dressing on the salad, and the tteokbokki was really spicy with a good amount of cheese. both were really good. next time I'll try the fried chicken. i really like bb.q because they have a rosé tteokbokki, but they are closed on mondays, so bonchon wins this round 🏆

(Update: lunch specials have gone up to $10.25) This location and the one on Park Rd. seem to share staff and management. They both offer fabulous $8.95 lunch specials. The boneless wings aren't nearly as good as the drums and wings. They're more breading than meat. We like spicy food, but Bonchon is even too hot for us, so we tend always get soy garlic and this time tried the sweet crunch as well (not bad). Besides the spicy chicken, the tteokbokki rice cake dish was on fire! Interestingly, the mozzarella they put on top helps to temper the heat on your tongue. (But only a little!)

Running some errands and noticed the Bonchon Korean Fried Chicken in Pineville, NC restaurant immediately. I think it’s a sign to visit Seoul! ✌🏽 ⁣I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I walked in but the energy was inviting and the food smelled good! Always a plus! I ordered the Soy Garlic and Korean BBQ 🫶🏽⁣ 10/10 for both! ⁣will certainly be back. ⁣

We enjoyed ourselves here for dinner one evening. We had several dishes. *The chicken strips are offered in Spicy and Soy Garlic. Listen. This spicy is SPICY 🔥🥵. This spicy did not come to play with you, it wants to make sure you never forget the time your taste buds mutinied and wanted to jump right off your tongue into your water glass. All that said, the flavor is delicious. *The spicy Korean chicken tacos, however, are not spicy at all. Or maybe my taste buds were destroyed from the chicken strips. Tasty, just not spicy. *The Shrimp Shumai was my husband and son's favorite dish, by far. They finished this in mere minutes. *The Pork buns were decent for me. Again, my boys loved them. *Lastly, the Udon Noodle Soup. DELICIOUS. *Dessert! I almost forgot. Definitely try the Korean Fried Doughnuts. Delightful. Overall, GREAT FOOD. The only reason it's not 5 stars for me is because the dining room space is a little cramped if you're not lucky enough to get a booth.

So we went for lunch, got there right at noon but was able to sit right away. Great start. Ordered pretty quickly, and this is where it wasn't the best. It took a pretty long time before the meal came out. ~30 minutes. Food was tasty. My chicken I got was split between the soy and the spicy. Wow, that IS spicy! 🥵 And I love spicy. Everything else was tasty too. Overall it was good, just took longer than expected.

We first went to BonChon in July 2022 for my daughter’s bday as she work try Korean food. Playing it safe, I ordered the chicken tenders. They were SO SO SO amazingly seasoned, fried to a gentle crisp, and dipped in a sauce I couldn’t recognize, but immediately fell in love with. Everyone wanted to try one, so I shared. As the months passed, I kept thinking about these memorable tenders and finally went back to BonChon for NYE lunch. They did not disappoint! They may have been better than I recalled. 5 Stars on the tenders-all 3 flavors!

This place was amazing!! From the food to the service. This was a first time visit for my Fiancé and I and we were very pleased. We are BIG FOODIES always looking to try something different/new. We chose 6 different foods to pick from and it’s all taste good! We drove half a hour to try this place and we will be back again !
