We stopped here for a drink and viewed the menu. We thought the menu was well priced and offered a good choice. We both chose the flat iron steak with chips, grilled tomato, and salad. It arrived quickly and well presented. It also arrived with peppercorn sauce foc. It was well cooked and very tasty. We sat outside in the sun, and there was a nice choice of outside seating, some with parasols. There is a good choice of beers and plenty of free parking. There's also an area at the top of the garden laid out with more outside seating and children's climbing frame, which is all fenced off and safe. We will return and would recommend it.

A really nice evening meal. The food was nice all around especially the beef burger which was cooked perfectly. Would love to visit again when we are in the area!

The first time we came, our friends forgot to mention I was gluten and dairy free. The staff and chef scrabbled around and still managed to deliver a cracking roast. So much so, that we returned two weeks later and, as I had put my dietary requirements on the booking, they had everything set up for me and every time they brought something to the table, they made it very clear what I could have. Eating out with this level of restriction can be tough, so I’m incredibly grateful for their effort and caution!

Amazing sunday lunch - well worth a visit! We had a reservation and took to a large reserved table in the corner, ordered roast beef which came as a great few thick slices of soft melty meat, gravy, odd few potatoes and Yorkshire pud. Also provided was a shallow tureen of mixed veg to be shared amongst all diners. Lovely leisurely sunday meal with good company - it's definitely worth as trip out there.

We haven't been to the Plough Inn for a long while, in fact pre-covid. Whilst we always enjoyed a drink or two in their rear garden, we decided it was time to try out their menu. The menu choice was substantial and of reasonable cost (this can be seen online on thier web site), they even have menus in a style of little blackboards where you can have panini with various fillings to choose. They have a traditional main course as well as Burger menu, which we both had burgers and very nice it was indeed. The service was good, and the pub itself whilst old fashion, was reasonable clean and tidy. Plenty of spaces for car parking at rear of the pub. Photo is burger, with fries, salad and coleslaw. The particular chosen was blue cheese with onions. So we will go there again.....

Good food and service, and a lovely little country pub. Food was nice, but not the best I've ever had, but still tasty.

We are regulars at the Plough, and are trying to support them through lockdown. Tonight we had their beef Burger with Stilton and skinny chips we had Bakewell tart and custard but tonight they had Orange Cheesecake absolutely fantastic. They are working so hard to keep their pub going in this difficult time. And we will continue to support them. Food and hospitality is second to none

This pub is in Alvescot (not Bampton as address indicates). The decoration is old school: carpets, dark wood, old plasterwork in ceilings which has its charm in a world of gastropubs. The atmosphere is friendly and cozy. Service fantastic. The food is literally the best around, super fresh, quality, interesting dishes and lovely touches, it really is AMAZING. I visited on a Monday and was pretty full, so book in advance if travelling a distance. It is pretty big, with different areas so able to cater for couples and groups. Recommended 10/10 if what you want is top food and service. Has parking.
