2nd Cup

on a business trip from my home in warm sunny southern california, and i wanted an espresso and to avoid starbucks.... their web site says they are open on Sunday's till 2'ish. fine, that's a cute and indie way to express yourself. I was impressed with that. so... it is Sunday noon, way before "2'ish", so I'm good to go. I walked a mile from my hotel, through the cold wind and rain in a t-shirt, jeans and flip flops, (california clothes) only to find them CLOSED!!!??? . if noon counts as "2'ish", (not in any sober world), are their baristas equally as careless? good espresso cannot be made carelessly. the final icing on this sad cake: on the actual building, they post their hours, as they should. they show no hours at all for Sunday's, yet on their web site they say they are open until 2'ish, ON SUNDAYS. there is NOTHING wrong with being closed on sundays, or any day you like, but it is careless and inconsiderate for your web site to lead people to believe you are open when you are not. web sites and wifi and all that are cornerstones of the modern coffee house experience, and this place is an epic FAIL, in that regard. once again, carelessness is NOT how good espresso is made. since 99 percent of coffee drinkers drink milk drinks, they probably won't care, but if you plan to try to impress people who really know coffee, this is not how to do it.
