We went to Chez Ami while staying at the Curtis Hotel for a Staycation. The food was delicious, though a bit pricey. I do not like to have too much or too little food, so I felt the serving sizes were perfect. The service was excellent!

Nice atmosphere and great service. The food was excellent.
I would recommend wearing something nice to dinner.

My main dish for brunch was crab benedict. This may sound weird, but those were the best poached eggs I've ever eaten. They must've been prepared in a sous vide. The yolks had a jelly consistency that I was able to pickup with my fork without it running. The eggs were placed on an english muffin, sun dried tomatoes and crabmeat.
The fingerling potatoes were nice and crispy.
Excellent dish! The dish was reasonably priced, but our cocktails raised the per person cost.😊 The pomegranate mimosa was tasty. It's possible to order a flat of 4 different flavored 4 ounce mimosa samples

This is an amazing bar with an amazing atmosphere. Tricia, our bartender for the evening, was absolutely amazing. Very attentive and was incredibly personable. Best old fashioned we had this entire trip. We will definitely be back and will stay here instead of across the street.

We stayed at the Curtiss for a fun night out and decided to have dinner at Chez Ami. The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff are exceptional. I would advise against eating at the Chez Ami restaurant inside of the hotel. I would go off premises to dine.
To start: to make the reservation it cost $15 a person, which comes off the final bill. So it cost $180 for our group of 12.
For larger parties, they won't separate checks, and 20% gratuity is automatically applied. Which would not be an issue if the food/service were good.
Unfortunately, our server (never told us her name) was not very attentive. One of the meals was not edible. Another person in our party got physically ill from their meal.
It is a shame because we really expected/hoped for more dining at such a beautiful hotel.
The next morning a few of us got breakfast. Again, lack-luster service. Never got the server's name. The food was overpriced/not edible. I got a breakfast sandwich on a bagel-- bacon was undercooked. Bagel didn't even really resemble a bagel. It came with two blackberries and one strawberry for garnish for $16-- don't even put fruit on the plate at that point.
I was hoping the night before had been a fluke and breakfast would have been better. Unfortunately not.
There are so many fantastic places to eat in Buffalo. I would go somewhere else while staying at the Curtiss.

Chez Ami is a charming, classy, yet comfortable place to dine that I would recommend to anyone. We were greeted by a warm staff and seated on the beautiful outdoor patio. There, our server was very professional, kind, warm, and attentive and provided excellent service throughout the evening. I ordered the meatball starter and as a main dish ordered the Alaskan cod, alongside some wine. Both dishes tasted phenomenal and I would recommend this place for anyone looking to have an enjoyable dinner experience.

4/10/22 Sunday brunch. 12 people. 4/12 meals were cold. I ordered steak eggs. Steak was cold eggs cold. Wife’s egg Benedict along with some others were just about raw. Probably won’t go back for that price

Nice hotel, stylish restaurant, ok service… but they must be employing former members of Spanish Inquisition at the grill… We ordered 5 appetizers (weren’t in the mood for any of the entrees which felt a bit generic) and everything that had to do anything with grill was completely and utterly burned at the stake…I mean you can actually tell that ingredients were quite good (from the few surviving morsels we could carefully pick out from the ashes) and the recipes/sauces were interesting (especially the octopus side/sauce) but c’mon… the highlight of the evening was Caesar salad (no flames involved) and frozen desert … for nearly $200 for two with a few drinks its a hard pass…. That poor octopus must have sinned… a lot…
