Holy Grounds

The staff is VERY friendly - a service with a nice smile. I had slight difficulty ordering because the young lady at the counter didn’t appear to be fluent in English, but she was proficient enough to get the order correct - not a big issue. You order at the counter and they bring the food/drinks to your table. Simple. I had the chicken and mayo sandwich. I’d give the sandwich a 7 or 8 out of 10. A tangy sauce reminded me of the sweet and sour dressing used in Vietnamese banh mi, so a new take on a chicken and mayo sandwich. I also had a long black which was fine, though a bit lighter than most. The place is clean, staff friendly, and very busy and popular from what I can tell. I’m new to Brighton so not too familiar with what’s available on Church Street, but will definitely come back.

The coffee is alright not complaining about the products but damn it takes bloody ages for anything. I’ve found the wait time is really really long especially if you order a sandwich or a roll as well. There has to be a way to optimise surely. Again not complaining about the products or the staff, they’re very friendly and polite . If you’re not in a rush or need to move quickly I guess you’d give it five stars.

Such an elegant and vibrant cafe, the menu is nice and simple, not overwhelming whatsoever. I ordered a latte and it was so damn good I had to order another one. I was also delighted by the friendly service and making sure that I was having a wonderful experience. The place itself is great! Definitely recommend checking it out!
