The food in this place is fenomenal. The place is under new ownership and I can honestly say that they are turning it all around! Disregard all the negative reviews and give this lovely place another shot. I love it so much, this is already my 4th week in a roll ordering from them and every pizza/burger is better than the other. Give them a shot! I promise you will be as hooked as I am :).

Earlier tonight I tried to order 1 pizza from Chessmen’s here in Bridgewater. After over an hour, I decided to call the store to inquire about my order. I was told the driver went to the wrong address and would be here soon. Fast forward 20 more minutes and a couple different phone calls between myself and the man taking orders over the phone, a bag with the incorrect food items was delivered. From there, I was told over the phone my actual order would be delivered soon and I would receive a full refund. However, whoever was taking the orders over the phone proceeded to text me multiple times which I thought was strange but I just went along for the updates. The screenshot attached shows what was said when I asked yet again about receiving a refund - "So you paid for the pizza and fries right?! And basically we gave you another wrong which is extra food and now we are making the correct order. So I don’t think a refund is necessary" - A follow up text was sent to me apologizing for being disrespectful after I reiterated our wait time, the mistakes that were made, and the worker verbally agreeing over the phone to a full refund. I’ve never ordered from Chessmen’s and after some research I found out there is new management in place. I felt as though this should be shared because the entire situation was baffling. Our food items didn’t arrive for well over 2 hours with much back and forth and I’m astounded by the text I received. *Update in response to the comment I received back from the "owner" - You claim I received two orders in place of 1 and therefore, I should not be "insisting" on a refund. However, the order I received in the first place was not a gift but rather the incorrect order before waiting another hour for my actual meal. I typically never write reviews or complain but I was told twice a refund would be administered due to the lack of organization and the rude interactions I faced. Management and staff here need training in professionalism and overall customer service etiquette. And for future reference, don't promise refunds if you intend on fighting against it minutes later.
