Strega

Had dinner here for the 1st time tonight. It was really amazing. At 1st, you'll try the understand the menu but it's ok. You must remember, this is "real" authentic Italy cuisine. No traditional boring Parm or marsala dishes here. The menu is seasonal. We had the grilled Octopus with marinated squash and pea mousse. AMAZING! I could of have a huge plate of that! We also had the Rigatoni with angus beef and the lasagna. Both were delicious! Their pizza's looked delicious... I had a few glasses of Pinot Nero which was a beautiful garnet color and satisfying to the palate... The restaurant is very nice, nice decor, even in the bathroom! The service was fantastic. Very attentive. The owner is very nice and appreciative of his patrons... Definitely a must try...

Wrong orders were delivered, entrees were brought separately with a long delay in between, items listed on the menu were not available, food quality was mediocre. The apologetic waitperson tried to make good by offering a gratis cocktail and dessert, which we appreciated, but there's no way we would want to revisit Strega. It just wasn't very good, in any sense.

We went to Strega for my birthday dinner tonight, I give it one star for ambiance, the appetizers were very pricey for the amount they give you. $30 dollar dinner plates were not worth 5 dollars. The waitress knew that we were disappointed and she didn’t offer for the owner to come over regarding our concern she just ignored us and acted like Nothing was wrong.We left very disappointed and more hungry than we were before we got there. We went home and ate leftovers not because we’re fat people but because our dinner at Strega sucked.

My husband and I tried Strega for the first time on a Saturday night. The staff was very nice, and the environment was pleasant, however our over priced dinners were awful. Our food was drenched in oil, had bland flavors (if you could taste anything other than cooking oil), and had small portion sizes. We went home disappointed and still hungry.

I would have given Strega NO STARS if possible. Made a reservation at 2:30 in the afternoon for 7:30 pm. The woman who took my reservation asked if we would like a regular table or a hi top table by the window. I said we’ve never been there so whatever she thought. She booked us at a hi top window table as she says they were nicer. We arrive a few minutes early. Same woman (I believe it was as she had a very strong accent) greets us. I say “I made a reservation” and give our name. She tell us “I am going to have to seat you in the bar” We say. “ the bar?” “We reserved a table by the window” She says “I know but we had a lot of reservations come in, so we have to move you” We literally stood there with our mouths open. They weren’t even moving us to a regular table, they were moving us to the BAR. I asked “ why even take our reservation if they didn’t plan to honor it? “ She literally shrugged. No apology offered. No offer of a rain check, no offer of a free drink/drinks. NOTHING. She walked away to seat someone else, so we left. Without a doubt the worst I’ve ever been treated at a restaurant. Will NEVER go again and neither will anyone else in my circle.
