Mariposa

We visited Mariposa in Edison on a Saturday afternoon. We sat outside in their garden seating. We ordered mole and gorditas, and a wet burrito plate. We ordered Tempache to drink. The food was flavorful. The gorditas were crisp on the outside and soft in the middle- they have a great bite. The fruit was fresh. The Tempache was made of pineapple juice, orange juice, mango, and cinnamon over ice, if I rememeber correctly. Traditionally, I believe Tempache was a fermented drink, Im not certain this one was, but it was good. If a good blended salsa is important to you, you'll find that here as well. My one complaint would be that my hot food was not hot. The service was good. The seating was great for summer outdoor dining. The food was really good. We will be back!

I'm not sure what the fuss is about with this place. The food is only ok. I went there on a sunny Sunday afternoon and the ambiance was great. There are tables out on a lawn. However the food itself wasn't good. I had chicken tacos and carne asada. The tacos came loaded but the beef was tough and gristly. The chicken was just ok. If you wanted to come hang out an afternoon for a drive through Bow-Edison, sure - but if you want good food, I'd go elsewhere.

We had the breakfast burritos. $7. We had the chorizo and the veggie. It was yummy. Not too salty. The salsas were the green, red and habanero. The salsas were yummy and spicy. These burritos are not very big but the tortillas are handmade and fresh. We took everything to go. I think it was worth it.

Tourist trap. Overrated, overpriced. This place must benefit from ppl cruising Chuckanut with good moods and bad taste in tacos. $16/17 for 2 tacos on what appear to be store bought tortillas. No rice or beans on the side. Tacos served room temp and have so many haphazard toppings on them they’re immediately soggy and impossible to eat with your hands. Plus, instantly forgettable flavors. I hate leaving a review like this but would also hate for you to take a detour to this place and be disappointed like I was. Outdoor seating area is cute at least and you can walk down to a nice brewery.
