The Bitter Bar

Best bar in Boulder, hands down. The bartenders and staff are SO fun, the drinks are great (we love happy hour), and they always play the best music. They have a little outdoor area that’s open when it’s nice out, and the inside is this really cool deep red lit speakeasy. Honesty everything on the menu is great, but I always recommend the Kiss the Sky! They make their own tonic in house, and there’s nothing that compares to it. Also the owner is super nice and cool - he really takes care of his staff and will close down the bar for a week or so every now and then to take the whole team on a vacation or trip somewhere. So if you want to support a truly local and family owned business by going out and drinking, go here :) also the college crowd doesn’t really come here at all, it’s mainly actual locals!

Waitress really knew what she was talking about. Great mixed drinks. They make their own tonic that's super unique and refreshing. Well worth a try. Atmosphere is a bit loud and packed but gives you this fun sexy intimate quirky vibe. Good date spot if you don't mind leaning into your date and talking louder than normal for conversation.

I drink a lot of water… like an insane amount.. and the bartender was always attentive and refilled my water anytime it was empty… virtually every restaurant in Boulder fails at this.. but Bitter Bar has a competent staff. 10/10 would recommend.. Oh and the drinks are good and atmosphere is delightfully ambient and classy.

They embarrassed me in front of my date for not leaving enough tip. The drinks were massively and unexpectedly expensive ($45 per shot) and literally a pour from a bottle into a glass (no mixing, time, or skill required). The server actually confronted me about a tip in front of my date. The tip reflected the effort that went into pouring a shot in a glass. I used to come here all the time. For years. I will NEVER return and recommend you be careful what you order. No honor.

The aesthetic, atmosphere, and vibe is absolutely on point with this bar. The drinks are very expensive but it is worth it to experience the classiness of the establishment. The lighting is dope and the cocktails are mighty tasty. There is not a lot of seating but I highly recommend this place for an intimate one-on-one romantic date.
