My friend and I had a great experience here! The service was great and everyone was so patient with us which was awesome because I had a lot of trouble deciding what I wanted to eat. The food was all pretty good but nothing stellar so that’s why only 4 stars. I was pretty disappointed with the biscuit because it wasn’t standard or as buttery as I expected. It by no means was bad, it just wasn’t what I expected or would be used to. We both got the BHAKTI CHAI which was absolutely delicious and I’d definitely recommend. Might even go there just for it! I would definitely recommend South Side Walnut to others looking for a chill good brunch spot. Also decent pricing.

We stopped by the walnut cafe on Sunday, it was very busy however we did not have to wait. We ordered a boulder latte to drink which was delicious. For our food we got the sunnyside sandwich with turkey sausage with a side of French toast and the southside omelet with a side of potatoes and blueberry cornbread. The sandwich featured a warm croissant that had a nice crunch and the turkey sausage added some nice flavor. The omelet was delicious with all the added flavor from the green chilis. As always, the potatoes were incredible. The cornbread was pretty good but a little on the dry side. Amazing local breakfast restaurant in boulder!

I can't recommend enough. Their espresso/coffees are better than most coffee shops. I had a latte, a scramble, fresh fruit and some other sides. The fresh fruit was actually fresh.

Best breakfast I've had in a long while! Potatoes were moist, pancakes were delicious. I added cream cheese to the Ranchhand eggs and it was amazing! Still killing it for breakfast decade after decade!

My reviews are very popular. Over 15,000 views, and growing every day.
I never believed my opinion counted for much, which is why I give it so sparingly. Said another way, it takes a lot of wrongdoing for me to form a negative opinion & then feel compelled to post that negative experience on Google Maps for the world to see.
And so too in the opposite condition a great deal of wonderfulness would have to be present for me to say anything at all about my experience at a particular venue.
So what then must have transpired on the patio of a restaurant for me to post a review even though I wasn't actually dining there? What epic, monumental force of nature sprang out from the pavement past the plastic tabletops, encircled the umbrellas and on a quiet invisible flurry captured my attention from the parking lot?
In a word? LOVE.
It was an athentic, compassionate, generous, difference making, philanthropic, altruistic act of love (ok so I couldn't just stick to one word). An act, so deserving of high praise that I have never been so quick to post words of esteem for a local business before. And I cannot think of enough accolades for this particular business. THEY ARE so honestly deserving of heaps of kudos and commendation.
I truly hope that by saying so everyone who reads this will reward this restaurant, The South Side Walnut Cafe, for having a model moral mindset & obvious company culture of compassion which puts people before profit and does so quietly and without thought for credit or acclaim.
Now more than ever, our post pandemic world needs businesses like South Side Walnut Cafe, socially responsible businesses! Because our Government doesn't take their protective social responsibility seriously anymore. So its up to individuals like us to put our money where it does the most good. And if we end up with a stack of walnut pancakes for doing so? Well I say that is just icing on the compassionate cake.

My family went to South Side Walnut Cafe after the Bolder Boulder in which my daughter ran in. Upon arrival it was busy and there was a wait time, 20 minutes. No problem there. It was exactly 20 minutes until seated. It was after that the bad experience happened. We were given menus, glasses of water arrived right away. Then we sat. No one came to take any drink orders. We watched a table behind us with more people in their party, get drink orders, then food orders. We were still waiting for someone, anyone to take our order. After twenty minutes of watching other tables get served, I went up to the counter and asked when we were going to get served. The person I spoke with, looked at me and proceeded to tell me how busy they were. I told her that we had seen people seated after we were getting drink orders and food orders. She reluctantly said she would help us. It was then another ten minutes before she came and took drink orders only and said our server would be over shortly to take food orders. Again another fifteen minutes went by and no drinks. My daughter then went back to the counter and asked where our drinks were. A server named Jess said she would come take our food order. She took the order and half of the drinks arrived. Another twenty minutes went by and my husband flagged down the hostess and asked who our server was and where our food was. Another ten minutes or so went by and the food was served by two different people. One order was not served so another five minutes went by before it was served. Meanwhile we watched people come, get served and leave and we were still sitting there. When the food arrived it was lukewarm at best. Yet another server was quick to deliver the check, which for $101.51 plus tip was not worth it. On the check yet again another person's name appeared which does not deserve the tip we left. Jess should receive the tip as she was the only person that was nice enough to help us at least take our order. We felt like we were invisible! Servers walked by our table and just looked at us. I am not one to post reviews on restaurants but this was by far the worst dining experience I have ever had. P.S. I read other reviews and it seems the owners' only acknowledge the good reviews. I rated it one star and feel that was generous!

My favorite place for breakfast in Boulder! Great service and great food. I've loved everything I've tried there, but would especially recommend the French toast and the cornbread!
