Peregrine

We love Juliet in Somerville, so we were excited to try their sister restaurant, Peregrine. To start we had focaccia with anchovy and it was scrumptious; so tasty! The wines were excellent, and the steak perfectly cooked and delicious. The servers were very attentive and skilled. We will definitely dine here again when we're in the area!

A friend and I popped in unexpectedly after taking a long walk around the esplanade . We wanted to have some small bites and bubbles . The location was perfect , right off the path to the esplanade and the staff at the hotel entrance and restaurant were so warm and welcoming . We decide to have a full lunch and sit in the beautiful garden . It’s a little slice of heaven in a bustling area . A small fountain , beautiful lights and comfortable seating . We shared a bottle of bubbles recommended by the waiter and each had the romaine salads with shrimp and salmon . They were completely filling and delicious. It was a delightful experience from beginning to end !

We were staying at the hotel and felt like having a snack at Peregrine. We were waiting for an outdoor table in the backyard. But due to miscommunication we were seated outdoor by the street. Josh, one of the staff, was very apologetic about this and offered us complementary snacks. Such a kind gesture. The outdoor seating was actually quite nice. People watching and nice weather we’re a good combo. Anyway, we ordered gazpacho and Sicilian pizza, both of which were great! Our server Lily was very attentive and friendly. When we saw the bill, it says “Peregrine is a full-wage restaurant. Gratuities, while appreciated, are absolutely not expected.” A sign of an establishment that treats their employees very well. We would definitely recommend this place!

Excellent ambiance, food, and service are some of the highlights of Peregrine, one of the best restaurants in Beacon Hill and Boston. Peregrine pleasantly combines a quiet and artistic atmosphere with an amazing—and reasonably priced—menu. I have dinned at Peregrine more than ten times and in each case the quality of the food was superb, and the meal options are always unique. In fact, they not only have a seasonal menu but also an optional fixed-course menu. A hidden perk of dinning here is that Peregrine is a full-wage restaurant, meaning that tips are neither necessary nor expected!

Came here for a business lunch- which it had the perfect ambiance for. Situated in the lobby of the Whitney hotel, it’s relatively small spot with roughly 10 tables and another 10 seats at the bar. Al opted for the burger, which he claims was delicious, I got the mushroom ragu which was quite tasty as well. At the waitresses recommendation I did also order the cheesecake, which delicious and came topped with sour cherries

We dined at Peregrine before heading to a show later that night. It was a Friday and the restaurant’s atmosphere was extremely quiet despite being half full. We didn’t mind this, but I’m pointing it out as other photos & reviewers seem to indicate a more lively atmosphere. Because of the way the hotel & restaurant are laid out, it definitely still feels like a hotel restaurant (which may or may not be the atmosphere you’re looking for!) The food and drinks were pretty good, definitely better than a lot of hotel restaurant food. We got the mackerel + eggplant and chicken + potatoes. The eggplant was notably quite good. The chicken was well seasoned and cooked well. Price seemed fair for downtown Boston at a slightly upscale establishment. I appreciated that tips were already built into the bill (both as a consumer and as someone who believes in staff being paid fair wages). All in all pleased. Thanks Peregrine team!

Located in the lobby of the Whitney hotel, Peregrine is a good place to enjoy Italian food in a laid-back lounge atmosphere. We recently came in for a weekday dinner and were surprised to find out that we were the only group at the restaurant. With the support of the team behind Juliet, we expected more popularity, and everything from the service to the food seemed pretty good. We started off with the Parmigiano + local honey which were excellent small bites for our drinks. The quality of the imported cheese was certainly good, but it would've been better if they sliced them in smaller chunks. For the small plates, we had the Catalan tomato bread and the garlic shrimp. Both were good, but nothing stood out in particular. The highlight of the meal was the Peregrine steak. Cooked with Kombu butter, the steak was extremely tender and flavorful. Risotto was a also nice dish to accompany with the steak, but papperdelle was bland and unremarkable. Without any sauce, the pasta was slightly dry, and we ended up leaving most of it.

Beautiful spot. Intimate bar. Nice staff. Good food. I ate lunch at the bar. Alison was my bartender and she was terrific. She was helpful, personable and passionate about her work. Very professional. I truly enjoyed my Tuscan Kale Ceasar Salad with Jamón. I will definitely swing by again the next time I am in town.
