A fun experience visiting the very place that inspired the iconic 80s TV show. It was a great atmosphere, giving the flavours and feels of a good ol' London pub, just with an American flare. The staff were friendly, and from start to finish this gave the experience there a welcome vibe, from the door to the drinks order to the arrival of the food! Given the tourist attraction of the place, expect to possibly wait to be seated, particularly at peak times, and be aware that food and drinks will be that little bit more expensive than other places.

We showed a little after 2 PM entering via the basement entrance. The downstairs area was packed. We received a card from the host with "SET" printed on it and were directed through the labyrinth back upstairs to the main bar, which resembles the actual TV series Cheers set. Throughout the restaurant/bar, it's littered with cardboard cutouts of the Cheers cast as well as a unique and eclectic decor adorning the walls.
The menu is a typical bar fare with many items named after the cast members. It seemed most items were priced around $20, including burgers. Drink prices are non-existent. I chose the Bacon Bleu Burger, and my wife ordered the BBQ Chicken Flatbread Pizza. The food took some time, but it was very crowded. When our food arrived, it did look good, and it was hot, but other than the bleu cheese crumbles, my burger was flavorless, as were the fries. I had a bite of my wife's flatbread pizza and was overwhelmed by the BBQ sauce, which buried any other potential flavors.
If you enjoy mediocre food, washed down with a $10 draft domestic beer, this is your place. Otherwise, take a picture of the place from the sidewalk and find somewhere else better to dine.

I have to admit that we just had drinks and French fries during this last visit but such fun! It was not as crowded as when I visited over two years ago. The bartender was great and “Everybody knew our name” 💞

Bucket list moment!!! Finally made it to the world famous CHEERS! As we planned, we visited a few times during our stay in Boston. The down stairs area (Bull and Finch) had a private wedding party going on so it was closed to the public which worked out for us on the 1st night. With the private party going on, we headed to the set replica bar on the top level. It was awesome! The drinks were amazing (try the Screaming Viking) and the food was to die for. The clam chowder was amazing. On the second night, we made it downstairs and was not disappointed. Absolutely great atmosphere. The only bummer we had was the guy that seated us both nights. Not a very happy individual. On the 2nd night, he wanted to seat us in the back by the restrooms. He said that there were no clean tables. The tables were not occupied, mind you, just not clean. We asked if we could wait for a table in the front and did not mind the wait. He rolled his eyes and sighed and said "Fine! I'll clean a table just for you" Sorry you had to do your job, bro! Other than that, the bar tenders and the wait staff were all super friendly. The gift shop got our pocket books good but it was all totally worth it. Can't wait to return.

Been here a few times, prefer the downstairs bar, weekends this place is jam packed, expect over an hour for a table to eat upstairs in the replica bar. The downstairs bar does not look like the show FYI. Gift shop is expensive. Food and drinks were great! Bar tending staff was great, server was very slow and not very attentive, everyone else was a blast and tons of fun. Very tiny bathroom. But clean. Highly recommend, and will probably return.

A Boston legend that has to be on your list ✔️ It may be a complete tourist trap but for all of us who remember Cheers it's the holy grail. We went in off peak season (October) but still had to wait in line for our photo of the bar outside. Walking down those famous steps into the bar was magic. We kept things simple and ordered local beers and Chowders, both were great. The place is definitely full of tourist just like us but it was a complete pleasure to actually have been here. Long live Norm 🍺

I had a great experience. approximately 30 minutes to eat at the downstairs restaurant but could try your luck at the upstairs "Cheers, set bar". This particular day, there was not much of a wait. We chose to wait for the downstairs and was given a buzzer that would alert us when it was ready for us to be seated. We used this time to browse the Cheers gift shop. There are some great photos of the cast, awesome t-shirts and other items. The food was good, and I was happy I was able to get a vegetarian burger. The highlight was when leaving my partner said loudly" excuse me " everyone stopped to listen in the crowded room " may I have your attention please, today is my 60th birthday and I am from Nova Scotia and it would be a bucket list dream if on the count of 3 everyone could yell my name Joanne". "1-2-3 !" Everyone raised a glass and shouted "Joanne!! " True, "everyone knows your name. " Thank you to everyone that day, that made it an amazing experience. We would go back again.

The place where everybody knows your name...for real! Tables are so close that when you bump into someone you apologize and ask their names. But it's a great place to see and won't be disappointed. Relives the 80's or start new memories in the heart of Boston. The food is great. The service is great. The prices vary by what you order but well worth it too. And if a fan, don't forget to buy a souvenir...I did!

The outside view of this bar is the only thing used in the TV show of the same name, but it is the most famous bar in Boston. Inside are several rooms filled mostly with tourists, and some souvenir areas. They do serve halfway decent bar food and draft beer. The service was a bit slow due to a lack of servers, but we managed. There are too many other great bars in town, but if you must, go for it.

It is one of the iconic places to visit, especially if you know about Cheers. It's just something that I wanted to make sure to check out while in Boston. The place is actually much larger than it looks. We didn't get to see the other section as it was closed. The bartender here was friendly and quick to get our drinks and as well as for others.
