This is by far my favorite place to eat lunch in Boone. Everyone is really friendly, and it's natural to strike up conversations with people you've never met from all walks of life.

Great concept! Have a decent meal, and address hunger in the High Country.
Non-profit donate what you can…suggested donation of $7 for a “small plate”…more than enough for lunch, and beats a $10+ fried fast food lunch!
Fixed menu each day…clearly a community hub…feels like everybody knows each other here.

FARM Cafe has the most welcoming atmosphere. I went because I was sick of eating unhealthy and pricy dining hall food. They don’t force you to pay anything but I pay out of appreciation for what they do and I hope they stay open for years to come.Their food is delicious, varied, healthy, and keeps me full throughout the day. Would give 100 stars if I could. Staff is courteous, helpful, attentive, and kind. A nice lady worker/volunteer noticed that I was struggling to find the bathroom and pointed out the location to me without me even opening my mouth. Just a really cool establishment that I wished I found sooner. Will be coming for lunch often.

My favorite restaurant in the country. I look forward to going here every year on my visit to Blowing Rock. You get up to 4 courses of food (salad, soup, entree, dessert). How could you not love getting 4 courses !! The food changes everyday as they get it from local farms. Very healthy! It’s a pay what you can restaurant. The volunteers are friendly. 10/10! You should visit.

Love the atmosphere and mission of this place! From the staff consisting mostly of volunteers, to them never turning down a plate to anyone regardless of money, to their daily menu change, it’s a place to visit in Boone.
Pay it forward when you go and purchase a plate chip for someone who may be in need of lunch!

We finally were able to stop by for lunch. Wonderful cafe. Volunteers are very helpful and explained everything to us. Food was really delicious - especially the soup! You pay either the suggested donation or a bit more or you volunteer. Great idea - everyone eats!

F.A.R.M. cafe is one of Boone's best highlights. The owners are really providing an amazing service to the community and the food is, hands-down, better than anything else around
I have a hard time deciding between their different entrees each day because I've never had anything here that wasn't a unique and flavorful experience. Come in, donate, and try everything you can. You won't regret it.

Great place to eat, Great food & super nice people! THERE should be more places like this to go, but it is always great to visit Boone and shop local and eat local food that is helping out a great concept that is working fabulously. 💞👍🤘
