Delicious Hotpots, Friendly Service! Peak Point serves delicious mini hotpots. Each hotpot is for one individual. It's a bit of a misnomer to say mini hotpot as each serving is sizable. Each order comes with a rice too. We couldn't finish our portions. The food is yummy. The service is friendly and pretentious. Prices are reasonable. What's not to like? :)

Very good hotpot! Portions are plenty, I couldn't finish my food. It can be very spicy so if you can't handle the heat, order it mild.

Everything is delicious! Clearly a Hidden Gem. We got a seafood pot with added cabbage, and an order of the fried tofu, which I did not think I would like, but I love it! Also we are sharing everything amongst three hungry Alaskan and there's more than enough! Great portions too! Yum!

I usually have a good experience at Peak Point, although it is typically inconsistent. My latest visit saw about half the menu being unavailable (basically everything other than the hot pots and at least one appetizer). They didn't have my first choice of milk tea, but it's still acceptable since it's hot pot place and not a boba place. The fried tofu appetizer is also pretty good, but the flavor is mostly in the sauce.

Summary: I've been here three times since it opened. This obviously means it's quite good and incredibly filling, but it's also fairly inconsistent. Right when you walk in, you'll notice the strong smell of the fumes from the gel fuel they burn under the individual hot pots. I don't know what brand they use so I can't say for sure whether or not you'll die from breathing them in, but I haven't yet so it's probably okay, right? I went only once during normal dining hours and it was very crowded, but the other times in odd hours there was hardly anyone (unsurprising). The food itself is good. I get the house spicy beef pot every time because I'm unimaginative, but my companions ordered the mushroom pot and the Japanese miso pot and both said they were good. Here comes some of the inconsistency: the spice level and saltiness. I order the flaming spicy option (most spicy on the menu) and each time it has been a different level of spicy, but none of them were what I'd consider flaming spicy. It was maybe medium spicy at most. The third time the food was very salty as well. Not unpleasantly salty, but near it, and significantly saltier than the previous two times. I ordered a medium royal milk tea the first time I went and it came in a giant mug, the second time I ordered a medium royal milk tea and I got coffee milk tea in a small plastic to go cup. The third time I ordered a medium taro snow ice and it came in the same giant mug as the first time. The second time we also didn't get any rice when normally it seems like every person gets a complementary bowl of rice. To be fair it was extremely crowded and there were only two servers. We had to request rice three times to actually get all three bowls. There are also a bunch of tvs lining the walls and the one at the back has a cable box dangling on top of the TV (if it falls on your head, you win a prize in the form of a law suit) but none of them are ever turned on. This is good if you like connecting with the people you're with, and bad if you hate your friends or family or are the third wheel and need to distract yourself from your companions making out on the table or whatever couples do. Final thing: I don't know if this is an occasional deal or an all the time thing, but the second time we went, we were told if we pay $30 or more for our meal, each person in the group will get a free taro shave ice dessert. We did and we got it and it was good (and also had tapioca in it). Ask for in next time you're there. That's it. Good food, inconsistent but never bad experience.

Pretty okay hot pot and the place itself is fairly cozy. However, I do get the impression that service is a bit of a recurring issue here (server was a bit absent, forgot dishes we had ordered, etc.)
