Good eatery with friendly staff and good food. Selection in menu is pretty standard and food didn’t take long to come out. What took a long time however, was our coffee at the beginning but it’s not that big of a deal. Bathroom was clean too. Overall, I’d recommend this place for breakfast or brunch.

I'm only leaving 1 star because 0 isn't an option. My family used to frequent The Hilltop because it was my late father-in-laws preferred local. I learned after the fact in was because there was always open seating for large groups. That should have been a red flag. I guess this is the point where the negative comments come out. Long story short in all the yrs(15) we would occasionally stop in(5-6) times a yr, we never had a positive experience. Meaning out of a group of 8-16 someone in are party got cold, flat out wrong, or just generally poor food. I personally wouldn't even waste the time on a review because poor service has become the standard, BUT they also have a birthday special "free" meal if you are foolish enough to give them your information. I took the chance 10 yrs ago thinking that they were a genuine Bellingham business. I unfortunately have never been able to redeem a single "birthday meal " in the 9yrs I was eligible. I want to warn other people that I honestly don't think that the "free" meal even exists and is a marketing ploy to get your information. Not to mention you will get more correspondence than the annual "Birthday voucher" which as I previously stated is a unicorn. I truly hope other folks have had better luck, but me and my family will NEVER frequent this establishment again. I have brought my issues to the attention of the management and received an apology BUT always with an excuse/justification for their mistakes. I grew up with that being considered ridiculous.
