A place where everyone is welcome. It's a friendly place, warm and welcoming. Great coffee and super yummy cakes. Friendly and kind staff. All customers were treated with respect and as wonderful individuals.
We used to come here for their coffee, but because it’s not close to our place, we stopped coming. Today we returned and were disappointed. The coffee wasn’t as good as we remembered; it was bitter and left a burnt taste in our mouths. …

The name is ironic; the baker is not grumpy, but friendly, warm, and welcoming. The avocado and egg toast was so perfect (seasoning, cooking of eggs, presentation, all!) that I came two days in a row for it during my stay in Bath. Wish I were here longer to try more of the delicious-looking pastries...
Always very helpful, beautiful local coffee beans used. It's a shame it's not larger as it's clearly very popular. Hand baked cakes are gorgeously indulgent, hot food is spot on.
