Scoffs

Had fish & chips plus a drink. We were served in the seating area outside as it was a nice day. They also have indoor seating. It took a bit longer than expected for the food to arrive but it was worth the wait. Our family all agreed that they served the best chips we have ever tasted and having visited many chips shops in our time, including Rick Steins, that it high praise indeed. The battered cod was also very nice. The price was also good. Around £9.99 for a regular fish & chips. They offer a 10% discount for take away meals. It would have been nice if they had offered a small fish & chip special like our local chippie as I do not have a large appetite, but I must confess the chips were that good I ate more than I normally do at lunch time! I will pop in again for fish & chips next time I go to Barnstable. The staff were also very friendly.

Great chips and service. Have no idea what a Yorkshire Chip is but it definitely isn't this..... These are black country chips and have been in virtually every chipshop in the Midlands since i was a kid 45+years.... Maybe the owner thought a Yorkshire chip sounded better than a Black Country Chip... 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ As black Country chips go these are pretty good and i would recommend them. And to the owner if you're from Yorkshire then i would be happily proved wrong ( though i doubt you can do that 😉 )
