Rakuu

Amazing karaage chicken (I think they use breast meat, but it is still very juicy!). Having been to Japan 8 times in the past decade, I feel the food is very homely and authentic. Almost everyone gets the karaage chicken. The beers on tap and the sake selection are great. Very busy at lunch with lots of locals eating in and taking away (great sign). There is also a very clean toilet and lots of parking.

Fantastic traditional Japanese food.. whole thing from ordering and the service fr9m the staff are as polite an professional as if you were in Japan. We only ordered takeaway but we ordered large to celebrate our MIL birthday but as she has 2 little dogs an house destroyed by floods an no able to leave them.. we ordered takeaway an went for walk by river an ate there. Was beautiful. Both the Katu an Kaarage Bento boxes are a winner an couldn't decided which one we liked. We all shared all so everyone got some.. the Rakuu sauce is the perfect dressing, very well balanced in flavour an taste. Everyone's overall an suprise favourite was the pork belly sushi.. sadly only 3 pieces but enough for everyone to try. We will order more next time.. an definitely going back.

Ordered about 6:30 pm with a party of four. Meals served at about 9pm but one meal was not served, it was "forgotten". Not good enough. Table next to us was left waiting for over two hours and only one meal was served with them too. Maybe it was lovely food but we'll never know. Probably don't bother going if you would like to eat something.
