The Arbury

The Arbury hosted our small wedding reception. All the guests commented how ‘exceptional’ the food and service was and that the wine and welcome cocktail were really good. I can’t believe how quickly each of the four courses came out all at the same time with only Martin in the kitchen, all perfectly cooked! Lucy was very accommodating, allowing us and helping to decorate the restaurant with flowers and other bits and bobs and hire table cloths and napkins etc. Lucy’s communication with us was great and offered her ideas which was very helpful. The Arbury really is the perfect venue to host your intimate events. We are so lucky to have such a great venue in Baldock.

Always enjoy a well paced, well wine paired excellent 3 course meal here. We normally need to book 2 weeks in advance so the chef can prepare a special Vegan menu for my partner (Specially printed with vegan options). Every meat type is an excellent recipe (the Greek Kebab starter is my all time fav - hope to see it again). Menu changes regularly so always need to go back to see what to try next.

Went there last night for our wedding anniversary, good service and staff. Only downside I have was our table was on the left hand side at the back next to toilet area and kitchen which was giving off a burnt smell that was rather unpleasant, food was cooked perfectly and presented to a high standard, as for the flooring, everytime someone went to the toilet you felt every footstep on laminate floor. Can't wait to to good back again on a different table

We booked The Arbury for our friends birthday after a recommendation and it did not disappoint. The decor was stylish and elegant with lots of room between tables. The staff were really friendly and helpful and did not rush us and allowed the perfect amount of time between courses. The food was stunning, every course was delicious and hot! The cheese soufflés were to die for! They have a lovely wine menu too including a lovely pink champagne we had before our meal. The prices were exceptionally good value for the quality of the food. We’ll definitely be back soon.

Visited the Arbury for the first time yesterday and was very impressed with the quality and presentation of the food, as well as the helpfulness of the staff. There is a list of foods I struggle with and generally avoid eating out as a result. However, the chef was prepped in advance about this and created a bespoke 2 course meal just for me. The chef is obviously brilliant, as the food was delicious, healthy, seasonal, and beautifully presented. I would heartily recommend visiting the Arbury if you are ever passing through Baldock. In fact, I would recommend visiting even if you are not. It would be worth the journey. Truly amazing experience.

The food was well presented and had an excellent taste. The options for each course were unusual and well balanced. The wine list was adequate but lacked some good wines. Service was quick and friendly. The dinning room was pleasant, clean and tidy. There was an almost full house, which contributed to a high noise level due to conversations of guests. I was surprised at the relatively low cost of an excellent meal. We will be back early in the New Year.

Ate at The Arbury for the second time and was again, very impressed. A delicious seasonal menu. My friend and I ate different items, all of which were presented beautifully and full of flavour. Looking at neighbouring diners we could see the dishes they had chosen also being thoroughly enjoyed. My biggest problem, was I liked everything available on the menu - I wanted to try everything. Excellent - highly recommend.
