Thundercloud Subs

I got the American Classic and all the ingredients were fresh and delicious, as usual. I did find out that they actually have alfalfa sprouts! Right after the gentleman preparing my sandwich had it all rolled up and stuffed in a bag I was lamenting about how you can’t get fresh alfalfa sprouts anymore because I used to always get them added to my sandwich, and he reached over to one of his trays behind the counter and held up a handful! Too late this time but I am surely getting them added to my sandwich next time! Being one of the oldest, if not, the oldest in ThunderCloud Subs, still standing the atmosphere is great, because not much has changed in the past 35+ years that I have been eating here other than a nice refresh to the exterior. The only reason they get - 1 star is because of the bathroom. It’s a hideous one-holer that is a little too primitive for nostalgia. 😄

Stopped here for lunch leaving Austin and there wasn’t really any customers there and when we went in they had some good music playing and the employees were interacting with the customers, having a good time while making their sandwiches. It was our turn to order and they were asking my girlfriend and I questions about our trip and giving us fun facts about the area and we enjoyed it very much! I hope we just happened to catch it at a slow time because this place is great and had some great workers I’ll definitely be back.
