El Monterrey

I have eaten lunch here twice, and have gotten sick both times. Too bad, because the food isn't bad for the South, and the price is right, $5 + tax and tip. Very popular place with the locals, the other Mex restaurants in town are virtually deserted while Monterrey does a swinging business. I would say give it a try because my stomach seems to have a lower threshold for filth than most people, and if everybody got sick when they came, no one would go here at all. One thing that I love about this place is the decorations. It is done up in awesome Aztec Indian murals. Reminds me of the way Mexican food places used to look when I was a kid. It seems at some point Mexicans decided that they didn't want to be Indians anymore in favor of being "Hispanic", whatever that means besides them speaking Spanish.
