Rating: 4.5 starts rounded up to 5. Ordered just their butter chicken for lunch with a side of the soup of the day (tomato). While the chicken could have been a bit more tender, overall, I quite liked how the dish came together. Hope to go back to try some of their other dishes sometime.

Such a sweet spot for breakfast or lunch. Historic home with a rustic interior surrounded by a landscape of herbs and flowers. Today I had the chicken salad sandwich on gluten free flat bread with tomato and spinach leaves. It was so good! Even the gluten-free flat bread! And those of us who eat gluten-free know how hard these little luxuries are to find. A while back they offered gluten-free lemon bars in their bakery case. Whether you are gluten-free or not you should definitely get one of these with a great cup of coffee

Both a hidden gem and locally well known. The weekend brunch is the best value in town. Highly recommended.

Came back today after being away for a month. The potatoes? To die for. The eggs? Delicious. The donuts? Lacking flavor and take forever. Couldn’t even finish mine. They were too dense (no air/not fluffy) and the glaze was a mess everywhere. Although the donut was disappointing, the rest of the meal was delicious. Highly recommend their DK scramble. Will return but will stick to the sweets in the case.

i arrived after 2pm, so the kitchen was already closed, but they had lots of premade items. very lovely place, it has a very quaint and rustic atmosphere. it felt safe and welcoming for all people, especially LGBTQ+ folks like myself. i found a new brand of sparkling water there! (San Benedetto, 1L bottle, unflavored. never seen this brand before— adding the bottle to my collection after i drink it.) other items they had that piqued my interest: vegan pumpkin bread; vegan pumpkin muffins; oat cookies; granola cookies; to-go sesame noodles; to-go lasagna.

Donderos is my favorite place in Athens. It is a great place to being friends and family or to come and work. It is quiet, they don't blast music and there is always a table available. The breakfast burrito is delicious (pro tip to add the pinto beans) and the cortados are excellent. The to-go items are all delicious especially the Butter Chicken and the Dal. The service is always top notch 100% and I have a great experience everytime. I truly love everything about Donderos!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We got the vegan pumpkin bread for $2.25, which was perfectly moist and delicious. We got the gluten-free grit bowl with fried tomatoes, goat cheese and red pepper sauce. We added a fried egg for $1. The ingredients definitely made the bowl, because the grits themselves were very bland—nothing to write home about. Good amount of food though. The french toast special was blueberry french toast. It was very sweet and was definitely not enough for a meal, which is why we we were glad we got the potatoes on the side. The DK scramble on flatbread was delicious. It was a good amount of food, though I would have preferred more eggs in it. I was going to get the quiche special (goat cheese, tomatoes and spinach) for my meal, but we decided to get it for the whole table, and I’m glad we did because it wasn’t a whole quiche! It was maybe 1/4 of a quiche, which was not advertised. For $5, that wasn’t worth it. It was nice that I got a free coffee because I’m a teacher. They offer deals for teachers, police officers, firefighters, and others, so make sure to check out their website. The place itself is cute—wooden tables and chairs, art for sale and cute little decorations. One plus was there was not wait for brunch on a Saturday morning! We were all satisfied with our meals, but because some portions were small, I’m giving it 4 stars.

I was finally able to catch them open for brunch with a friend. I had a tasty croissant sandwich, but the real hidden gem is in the freezer. The take home meals are delicious! I had the chicken korma and was pleasantly surprised. Pleasant staff and local. :)
