The Bonnie

This is a charming bar, perfect for a date! I went there last night with my wife for drinks. It was pretty good. I got the banana Old Fashioned, which was tasty, more on the sweet side, and then I tried the Tooley Bird, a very interesting flavor. If you like smokey drinks, you will like this one. I want to come back for dinner next time!

I hosted my boyfriend's 40th Birthday at Charlie's this month and it was amazing! Tali was very responsive and answered all my questions leading up to the event. Day of Melissa was our bartender and she was so quick and efficient, nobody was waiting for a drink for long. They also helped reserved tables for us at the Bonnie so anyone that wanted to continue celebrating could migrate there. The space was pretty comfortable for our group (35 people) but it does get "crowded" if people all convene in the narrow part between the bar and the wall when getting food (food is set up in the back). However, we managed to just get groups to disperse more as there is plenty of space. The drinks were excellent and everyone was raving about the cocktails - particularly the espresso martini and the mezcal cocktail (I forget the name). The food was good but there were a few items that were fine not great. The carrot falafels were pretty dense and the mini burgers were a little dry because the patties were thick - could def benefit from a sauce on the side that could be added at guest preference. Additionally, it would be great if there was an option for chafing dishes or heat lamps as the food got cold pretty quickly. However, I do understand there's limited space and potential liability with a chafing dish option. Overall, everyone enjoyed but these small details would help elevate. I would definitely host another event with the Bonnie team!

One of my favorite spots in Astoria that I recommend to anyone! Really good food, great cocktails and the staff here is so fun & friendly. The space is also very charming and cozy, which is honestly so rare and hard to find in this neighborhood so it’s super appreciated. The terrace is also so, so nice! Will be back again and again.

We hosted our wedding at The Bonnie this October and it was absolutely perfect! We wanted to do something a bit less traditional and we had one of our first dates there, so it felt really special. We had just under 100 people attend and were able to do everything under one roof- the ceremony was in the back garden and with all of the greenery/Bonnie decor already in place, it looked beautiful. We added small personalized touches throughout the space but you really don’t have to decorate much- everything is already such a pretty vibe and they give you the option to use their flowers etc. Their Events Manager, Tali, is a dream to work with. She’s incredibly professional and has clearly been doing this for some time. The entire planning process was a breeze knowing that she was taking care of things. She was also very communicative over the course of the year leading up and we never had to question when/if things were being handled. If you’ve eaten here you know the food is delicious but they really knocked it out of the park! We are still getting compliments about the food and service. The bartenders and entire staff were so kind, quick, and fun to be around!! 10/10 from the moment we visited!

I wanted to share my wholehearted recommendation for "The Bonnie" as an exceptional venue to host your next big event. My milestone birthday celebration at this establishment was nothing short of remarkable, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The venue, food, drinks, and service exceeded our expectations and contributed to a truly unforgettable evening. A few weeks ago I got married and we had our reception in the outdoor (enclosed) and beautiful garden at The Bonnie. It was absolutely incredible. We can't put into words how grateful we are for Tali, their event coordinator. Her expertise and dedication brought our dream wedding to life. Their kind and hard-working staff ensured that every aspect of the evening ran smoothly, allowing us to focus on our guests and each other. Their food blew our minds. We frequent the Bonnie so we already knew how exceptional their menu is, but our dinner options left us and our guests floored. Just perfection. The Bonnie is a beautiful, one of a kind, authentic space and any event held there is so special!! When we get out photos back I'll be sure to share some!! Me and my wife Lauren just recently tied the knot at the Bonnie this September. I cannot say enough about the professionalism the event manager Tali displayed during the whole process! The food was amazing and both she and the staff were on point all night. It rained on our day but that didn’t stop us from having the time of our lives . We will always have a special place in our hearts for this establishment and highly recommend it to anyone looking to have a wedding there. With great appreciation, Ryan and Lauren

If we could leave 6 stars, we would! We are so beyond thrilled with our event at The Bonnie. We had a pre-wedding party for approx 85 people in the courtyard and oak room. The drinks were well-crafted and tasty, buffet food was prepared beautifully (everyone raved about it) and the venue was just perfect for our needs. We couldn’t speak more highly of our Event Coordinator Tali, and the entire staff. She made the whole party planning thing fun for us, and was extremely attentive to our needs, our wishes and our many questions. The day of the event was super smooth: we had live music set up in the back corner of the courtyard, and we even made our own playlist to have running though the restaurant’s speaker system when the band wasn’t playing. It was a vibe! Would highly recommend The Bonnie if you’re looking for a unique private event space in NYC!
