A little bit of a wait, but the food is really surprisingly good. We tend to have beef tacos and queso. It's much better than it sounds.

Wonderful experience, Was in town recently ate at the shack several times had the best burrito with beans in it. Was so delicious and fresh! My wife had "the works" and she was very impressed with the taste and quality
I also had the Famous Texas Tater fully loaded and let me tell ya nothing in Alpine beats it. I went back a few times while visiting the area...

Out of all of the independent food stops in Alpine; this one is great. Like some of the other reviews stated; you don't get very large servings. But! You're also not paying all that much. It's way better than some of the places in town where you pay twice what this place charges and get the same small servings

We had finished hiking in Big Bend and wanted a good burger. Google Maps listed this place, so we gave it a try. We are glad we did! The Shack Burger was amazing! Crinkle cut fries and tater tots were outstanding! Cutest place with the sweetest atmosphere!

The atmosphere is nice, it's out of town and they have picnic tables set up to eat outside, but that's the only thing it has going for it. Fajita burrito didn't taste bad, but it wasn't good either, and it was very very small. It can't even be called a burrito. The beans used in the nachos were the kind you buy at a grocery store dehydrated and in a bag. You're better off going to McDonald's for better tasting food, I never thought I could say that, but this place is just that bad.
