Subway

This Allendale location was one of the nicest experiences. CATHY was a phenomenal customer service representative. She was so friendly and helpful. We came with a four kids who left a bit of a chip mess, sorry Cathy..but the crew of a young man and young lady n Cathy gave us a great experience and smiles. Theywere so patient, sweet and kind. Thanks everyone for your great service.

These employees put up with some stressful situation today and I feel bad man. One lady kept ordering sub after sub and they couldn’t keep up with online orders for a customer in the store. Another guy gave one dudes online sub away to the wrong customer. Along with this weird siren going on. I didn’t end up getting anything cause the wait was too long but it wasn’t the employees, it was just the same woman ordering like 10 subs at a time. They clearly felt horrible about the wait and tried their best to calm down the other customers. I commend them for that.

I came in after 12, which is a usual lunch rush. It seemed like one of the two people on the line were new, which was no problem bc the other team member, James I think, was handling the situation like a rockstar. 6 more people walked in, and James asked the guy on cash to run back and grab Mary to help out on the line. I hope she was not the manager, bc I was extremely disappointed when the guy came back out and said that Mary wasn’t going to come help because she was working on the schedule. As a previous manager of a store in the service industry, I know that scheduling can be done at pretty much any slow time of the day. Since this was definitely not a slow moment, I was pretty appalled when this manager decided not to help out her team. I felt bad tipping bc I know that she will probably receive a percentage of that tip, but thought that James deserved it. I would be rating a lot lower had it not been for the professionalism of James, and pretty much only James.

Four stars because the food and staff are great, but my foot long sub was only 11.99997 inches long, not a true foot! Such a travesty! It's almost like they cook real bread that varies slightly in length instead of printed synthetic subs that are all identical. For shame, Subway. For shame. Also, once I wanted subway vinaigrette on my sub and got some weird sauce that tasted like I was dying. But this place is good enough that I keep visiting time and time again.

This is the only Subway I will go to, but this review is specifically for Hector. He makes the best subs, EVER. I have been eating subway (2-3/week) for about 15 years now. I stopped going as much due to the people hired now-a-days doing a terrible job and not caring. I now will ONLY go to this Subway, when he is there. Today, I was laid off from my job and have spent the better half of the day in bed, being upset. I peeled myself out of bed, to get my favorite sub, to make me feel better. I told my husband, if Hector isn't there...we will go down the road to Main Street Pub. When I walked in and seen him, my day instantly got better (it's the little things that make a difference these days). His energy and politeness (not to mention his amazing talent of making the best subs ever) made me forget about my terrible day. Thank you Allendale Subway for hiring the best worker you've had in YEARS. Thank you Hector for being the light in my dark day (even though you didn't know).
