Spats Coffee Lounge

This place is an Adelaide icon, it’s been around forever. The chance are your parents have once went here. It’s open late every night and has a really authentic feel, mind you that’s probably because they haven’t changed the decor in that long. There was only one guy working when I went in late on a weekday, he was super helpful and service was great. COVID-SAVE, the guy made sure we all checked in and booths are relatively private.

Haven't been to this place in 12 years and thought to try it again. Decor and setting is fun but could do with less flashing coloured lights in some areas. Outside menu needs updating to reflect actual menu pricing. Service is okay, but definitely some language barriers. Quality of food is low. Hot chocolate was made from dry powder mix, better off going to o St Louis down the road

Very disappointed. Almost tripped on the way in over the planks of wood placed inside the front door. No staff in sight. Made my way to the counter and waited 5 minutes before a staff member spotted me. Place was an ice box, despite one heater at the front lounge. Had to wear my coat inside. One of the members of the table near me had to peak their head into the kitchen and call out for a staff member, so that they could pay the bill. Waffle and coffee was average at nest. Not worth the money. Poor service. Freezing cold. Average food. No idea why this place has such positive reviews on Google.

We went relatively late, tables were dirty, we waited for ages for our table to be cleaned, didn't happen, we the went to the front of the cafe and the guy wanted to seat us under the stairway and we declined. We ordered our coffee and our desserts. Turkish coffee came with cardimun flavour, not what we expected and the Vienniese coffee was weak looked like dirty dish water discusting. The first table we were given the seating was stained and dirty. Needless to say a favourite place from years ago, we will never go back again
