Flying Fish

We are regular fans of this restaurant especially in Plano where we usually eat. Today we wanted a road trip so off to Dallas location. Much smaller than Plano location but food and service A-OK. Virus mitigation efforts in place so its a safe place to eat. We came hungry but left with plenty of leftovers which makes price per meal very good.

Typically have a good experience here, but on this visit, I ordered 1 doz. oysters on the half shell. I've eaten thousands of Oysters on the half, and had never seen the green moss/slime that was on these bi-valves. I tested 2 of them anyway against my better judgment, and they were foul. No wonder they were on special for $9/dozen. On a better note, my mothers Rainbow Trout was spot on, along with the red beans and rice that accompanied it. I think this is a one off in regards to the oysters. They did make it right with beautiful cold boiled shrimp. ah

The 'hole in the wall' restaurant in Addison. Interior is tight, messy, and rather knackered, with handwriting in the bathrooms, ceiling tiles out of place, and cheap ceiling fans scattered about. Food is great and well worth the price given everything else in the nearby area is probably overpriced. However, the Plano location is significantly newer, larger, and has larger portions of food. If you have the time, drive out to Plano; otherwise, this one will work.

Great Menu but not season enough on the Fish 🐟, 🍟 Fries, 🦐 Shrimp & Hush puppies, The Shrimp Gumbo was awesome, Fish 🐟 Tacos 🌮 has way to much sauce. Disappointed but not all the way impressed, The Register Girl was in her phone 📱 texting which is unprofessional, Even if the customer is not ready to order it's best just to stay focus on them and not you're phone 📱😉 I would definitely come back to try different items on the menu 😃☺️ Because I don't give up that easy, And the cook looked very clean when he came from the back.
