Fleece

Sunday lunch for 3 people was really lovely. Excellent portion sizes everything was cooked to perfection. The vegetables were cooked superbly especially the carrots and parsnips. Even more surprised when our lovely waitress came round asking if we wanted more roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings. Unfortunately we had to decline as the portion sizes we were originally served were just right. I was the only one who had the mini pud simply because they were serving Soltice cheese which I really love and find difficult to obtain in stores. Atmosphere was wonderfully relaxing, it was busy but not too intrusive. One could chat comfortably. Overall a lovely Sunday afternoon.

We had a lovely nights stay at The Fleece. It has a beautiful setting, overlooking a quaint green in a quiet part of town, and is full of historic character. Check in was swift and informal, and the staff were bright, helpful and attentive. When we arrived, on a Monday evening, we were astonished to find the bar and restaurant full of customers, which is testament to the popularity of the inn both locally and with tourists. We parked in the car park at the rear, off road and very safe. Our room was above the main restaurant but very quiet and well equipped for a restful nights stay. The king sized bed was very comfortable and the bathroom lovely, with a huge shower. Our meal in the restaurant that evening was wonderful too, with great service. Breakfast matched up to the same standard. This is a great place to stay if you are planning a trip to the Cotswolds or Oxfordshire, and we highly recommend it!
