Picnic Box

I hired the Thames barge Greta for a day's sailing to celebrate my 70th birthday. The Picnic Box was ideally located to provide our on-board lunch. We kicked off with early morning bacon sandwiches served in the South Quay space, and then loaded up our prepared boxes. Our party ranged in age from 4-69, and special boxes were designated for the two children, as well as for those with "healthy appetites". The contents were excellent, particularly the deep-filled sandwiches and pastries. Liaising, with Allen beforehand was very straightforward. An enquiry concerning the potential presence of nut allergens was answered promptly and reassured us that this important issue was well controlled. A great plus was to be able to return the packing and utensils (almost all of which seemed to be recyclable) to their unit at the end of our trip. In short, highly recommended. John Hammond

What an amazing experience! Today was our 29th wedding anniversary and due to external factors, we couldn’t attend the meal that we had planned to celebrate. Alan came to our rescue and prepared a superb smorgasbord of a picnic, which we enjoyed by the sea. 5 stars, Alan! Book you picnic and you won’t be disappointed!
