Packanack Bakery

My wife works at Chilton Hospital and wanted a box of donuts and a cup of coffee from this bakery delivered on Sunday while she was in a shift. The bakery has over 50 years of history and the staffs there were quick, decent, and cordial. Not sure if they make less batches of things they make on Sunday compared to other days if the week, but there were only 2 donuts available to buy. I chose to buy other portioned breads as substitution. A box of breads and two cups of medium size coffee set me back a little over 22 dollars. I felt the prices were reasonable.

Really solid, good all around Bakery!! There know for there crumb cakes, donuts & cookies. Everything is homemade & done on the premises. Did I mention there signature crumb cakes? The best in the entire state of N.J.!!! 3 FLAVORS, ALWAYS AVAILABLE. Powdered, Frosted & Chocolate Pudding Crumb. A MUST have if your ever in the area. To good to pass up so give ‘em a try.

A good rule of thumb is not to go to a bakery late in the day, but at Packanack Bakery, it does not matter when you go, it is always great. What a spread at this place, they have everything you want in a Bakery. Their signature Crumb Cake was as advertised and even better. Finally i found a true Bakery. Anytime I am in Wayne, this is my new go to sweet spot. Love this place.

Edit: just tried a cupcake, since we are stuck with them anyway. The frosting on the cupcakes is gross — heavy, powdery, tasteless. Yuck. questionable, dangerous ethics. People with allergies beware. They will gloss over things to get you buy their stuff. The peanut/nut policies were misrepresented blatantly to me. I was told that they are a not a nut-free *facility* but their cupcakes do not have nuts in them. Any one who is allergic will tell you that same facility and same equipment are two very, very different things when it comes to safety. The following day, we found out from a phone conversation with them that “nut contamination” is possible, which definitely implies same *equipment*, not same *facility*. I am stuck with a bunch of cupcakes which I can’t use for my kids school party, both ethically and legally. I hope the 27 bucks they got out of us were worth ruining a kiddo birthday and/or endangering a bunch of kids. I also hope they do not end up ever killing anyone with a cute cupcake. How do people/businesses like this even live with themselves, is beyond me. I’ll be sure to spread the word.
