Being such highly rated and requiring a $25/person deposit for reservations we had high expectations for this place. We were first excited to be seated by the balcony corner, but quickly realized there is a really cold draft that comes through. The appetizers were great but got really cold after a few minutes. The entrées were okay, but it didn't have any wow factor to it. Overall for the price we paid we thought we would have thought it was amazing.

I have been coming here for years and I’m never wrong in bringing people here for their first time.
Food is top quality, it tastes good, it looks good and feels good. Service is really always amazing. Cocktails are amazing, music is divine. In the summer, ask for a table outside by the River.
Recommendations:
- Wagyu Carpaccio
- Carbonada Lasagna
- Wagyu steak (above and beyond)
- Halibut
- Lemon and Honey, Chocolate Ganache

Best meal in Vail, hands down. We came to Vail in January and skipped SB thinking it was "too fancy" - we were wrong. We returned in June. My son wanted something with shrimp for his 18th birthday dinner and saw tiger prawn scampi on the menu, so we took a shot. So glad we did. While the menu is refined, the atmosphere and staff are inviting. I wore shorts, a nice collared shirt and sandals / the rest of the family wore similarly casual clothes and we fit right in. Don't get me wrong, SB is not cheep, but this is Vail. And to put it into context...we shared an appetizer, my wife and I had two "adult beverages" each, the kids had a moctail, we all had a different entre, and we shared 2 two desserts - our total bill before tip was less than $70 person (which was not that much more than a far lessor quality lunch we had the day prior somewhere else in the village). If you're looking to splurge and not take a chance on what you might get for food or service, you must try this place if you get to Vail - and ask for a back patio table with a creek view - we didn't get a table on it, but it looked amazing.

Great general experience as usual. Service was spot on. One of the best meals you can have in Vail. For the Spring menu the Steak Tartare and Kanpachi Crudo appetizers were ok, but the Scampi pasta and the Lamb shank were fantastic. Restaurant is children friendly with a separate but delicious children’s menu. Highly recommend the children’s menu chicken pot pie as well.

Delicious! What a treat from the wait staff to menu and options and must have desserts. I am celiac and had the most amazing meal of venison! I wanted to try something different ND it did not disappoint. Just go!

Had the octopus appetizer which was great. The lamb tagine was a bit on the salty side but def worth a try. Maybe ask for extra apricot to balance the salt. STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING FOR THE WIN. AMAZING!!!

So to begin, food here was fantastic. This review does not have any reflection on the food sweet basil is putting out or the skill and friendliness of both the sommelier and our waiter. This review is a response to the grotesque treatment my group experienced from the front of house, the hostess to the bartender. We politely asked to add 2 more seats 24 hours in advance, to which the hostess laughed and said absolutely not(so my guests had nowhere to go). They separated my tables into 2 four tops, even though we requested them together 2 months in advanced and an 8 top was available the entire meal. The hostess sat my table 20 minutes after my first table, even though we arrived 30 minutes earlier (I can only assume because my group was the younger group and she decided we didn’t have money). the bartender wanted to force us to keep our tabs open, probably to get the table tip. She was also unaccommodating and quoted their prices wrong, so I paid double what she said for my glass of whiskey (still wasn’t expensive, but I would have chosen something better). Our experience was so distasteful it nearly ruined all the wagyu, which was plentiful. Our bill ended up being over $800 for 4, we order two $100+ bottles of wine on top of cocktails and I’m sure the rude, plebe hostess was very surprised to see how much money we could drop. My suggestion, fire the judge mental idiot and you have a 5 star restaurant.

This was one of, if not the best meals I have ever had.
I came here for my 3rd anniversary. We started off with the Whipped Feta, something that I didn’t think I would like. Well, let me tell you, if you come here you HAVE to get it. It is amazing and a great appetizer to start the course. From there I had the T-Bone Lamb which was incredibly flavorful. The meal ended with Red Velvet Cake and Espresso Martinis. If I could rate higher than a 5 I would. Incredible service and atmosphere too.
