Lone Star Texas Grill

Had been before post covid and super great food and service. This time around was not that sadly. Place was very under staffed, leaving only very small parts of this huge place with seating. We waited 10mins to sit at 230pm. Normally a slow time. Our waiter was friendly enough but stressed and when the food came out, many items cold. Fries and mushrooms for sure. One steak that was to be cooked Med, was very burnt on the bottom. Like burnt side down on a plate would not be noticed by the person trying to cut it! My Jack Burger was delicious but the rest of my party not to happy. Really hope the vibe changes soon. I'm sure it will bounce back to my 1st experience there. I did dig the Super Size Corona bottle.

Came with friends for lunch on a Sunday. 15 minute wait for a tabel. When seated we noticed 3/4 of the restaurant was empty so we we're uncertain why the long wait time. Our waitress was personable and incredibly friend. I enjoyed the chicken chimichanga and fries. The chimichanga has plenty of flavour however the sour cream would have been better served on the side. The fries were tasteless but cooked well. The menu was large however had little to no description of what the menu items came with. (had I known the sour cream was on-top I would have asked for it on the side) Lone Star was a typical big box restaurant but was very clean and again our waitress (can't think of her name unfortunately) was fantastic.

Ambiance: fairly large place located close to the air port. Perfect for a game night as they have large tv's around the bar. We were seated in a booth which was very comfortable. Food: All tables receive tortilla chips with salsa, I decided to all try the queso. This came hot - melted cheese and chiili peppers, it was absolutely delicious. Fajitas - they have a variety of different meat selections. We decided to go for the grilled steak & buffalo chicken combo. This was accompanied with all the sides and warm tortilla. I personally was not too fond of the chewy fat pieces on the steak and chicken. There was definitely more onion on the plate than meat. The complete disappointment was the Churros - instant regret once I took the first bite. It was hard to bite and almost hollow inside, the caramel/chocolate sauce could not salvage these churros. Even the server could see the disappointment when I expressed how terrible these were.

Well let me start this 5 star rating at the beginning. We get there and find three extra wide handicap parking spots, extra wide to allow the ramp of my van and wheelchair to access the property with no problem. Better handicap parking than our hotel across the street. Next they actually had a nice ramp for my wheelchair to get down to the lower eating area, something I rarely see in restaurants. Next we met the friendliest hostess, nickname chili, I have ever met who ensured our seating was comfortable and even moved a table to accommodate the wheelchair. Next there was our server/waitress, nickname brandy, who was again the most pleasant, friendly and helpful person with quick quality service and super helpful. Knowing that I had some comments, the manager, nickname tequila, sat down with us and was genuinely interested in the good comments and bad comments about their accessibility and employees. She displayed a sincere concern to the improvement of the Lone Star to be better. And last but not least, the food was absolutely awesome. I can tell you from experience, the ribs actually do roll off the bone if you order that!!! Super happy we went there, very enjoyable family meal!!!! Thanks, Terry

Gotta say that I'm a veteran of the original Lone Star on Fisher... so maybe I'm a bit critical. The food was fine, the Margs were fine, the beer was fresh and cold, but the staff... dunno, maybe a bit too 'big city'. Anyway, nothing was wrong, nothing out of order, maybe just the atmosphere was a bit icy. Still, great food.
