Steak 'n Shake

Well when I was there I saw two employees get high in the back of restaurant and when I walk in I stood in.line for 15 to 20 minutes before any of staff the recognizes that people were standing in the doorway of the store.one of waitress told a customer she was about leave or walk out an when I finally got sitted we was ignored an when I waiter finally got to our table waited on we had wait for another 15 for our 2 soda and while we waiting on our food and mind we ordered two cheeseburger platters,two milkshake and extra order onion rings and 2 soda we start hear f- bombs and damn coming out the wait staff in front of children that was eating in the restaurant too an when finally got our food our cheeseburger was cold and our french fries were hot and we finally got milkshake we got them in a to go cup and then we finally got our onion rings after reminding them we order them so we sat there for at least an another 20 minutes No check came so we had to go up cashier to pay for our meal so no I do not recommend this restaurant on Monroe St .

I absolutely love this place. I've been going here since I was a kid, and the place still has the same delicious taste. The food is really good, especially for how low it is priced. The worker who served us was so nice, and did not take too long to prepare the food. And don't even get me started on the milkshakes: they make the best ones out of anywhere else I've been!

Leon Dre took our order and he did an amazing job. He was very respectful and polite and truthfully was a breath of fresh air. We just came from the Steak N Shake on Reynolds and had a terrible experience. Also the food here at the Monroe location was fresh and hot and delicious! Great experience!! We were very happy with the service by Leon Dre!!

Entered the location at 9:10pm it was myself, my husband, & our son. There were about 3 tables seated when we arrived, the location was more than 80% empty. When we entered there was no one waiting to be seated. There was 3 staff walking around the floor. It smelled awful upon entering and the floors were sticky, my son actually began dancing around the floor sticking his feet to the floor for fun. We were not greeted for roughly 10 minutes when someone passed saying it'll be just a moment. Others were waiting to pay & leave but couldn't as the waitress repeatedly complained ''there's nothing she can do to help because her drawer is out of money. Another couple came in behind us & waitress #2 huffed out loud & approached us. She loudly stated ''3 of you?'' We said yes & she took us to a table while announcing ''well i'm just gonna let you know there's only 1 person working the floor tonight so....''- my husband and myself are both in retail management, we get it so we state we understand & sit. Another 15 minutes go by before anyone approaches our table while the 3 women are working the floor. Finally one lady approaches us & asks if we'd like to order drinks or drinks & food. We've witnessed people waiting 20+ minutes for shakes so so we intentionally avoided them & ordered our drinks & food at 930pm. In this time we watch the couple after us, immediately seated & order taken. As we're waiting for food we see others attempting to pay with the same excuse as before. An unscheduled employee comes in & sits at the counter with her boyfriend & proceeds to talk to the limited staff causing no one to be serviced at all. She's dressed in a tank top & gym shorts without any uniform on & proceeded to go behind the counter to grab themselves drinks & chat in the kitchen. I have pictures of this happening. 10 minutes after ordering, mine & my husbands sodas are brought to us. Our son asks where his milk is & he is ignored. Our food arrives after 10pm & she FINALLY brings our sons milk. As we're eating our drinks disappear & we are repetitively ignored trying to get refills as they continue to chat with the employee off the clock & loudly announce what supplies they're out of, napkins, straws, & cleaning fluid fyi. We cleaned and stacked our plates trying to get someone's attention for refills or even our check and we were ignored. So my husband went to the register & was promptly met with ''where's your receipt? '' & he tried to speak with a manager & was denied so

This Monroe Street Steak 'n Shake provided a disappointing experience. We ordered online around 5:30pm and was told our 6 milkshakes would be ready at 5:50. We arrived curbside on-time and no one answered the phone number provided. We went through the drive through and they confirmed they got our order. We then waited in the parking lot and finally received the shakes at 6:15 pm. Not one other car pulled up or went through the drive through... it was empty. Our shake order was correct, but 4 out of 6 shakes were sticky on the outside. Very disappointing and frustrating.

This is the first time I have been to this location since it has re-opened under new ownership. I was very happy with the service, the team member at the window was very nice when taking my order and when I got to the window to get my food she was very friendly and provided very good service. The food was great. Easily the best milkshake I have had in a very long time. For food I went with one of my favorite Steak and Shake staples, a Frisco Melt and some of their shoestring french fries 🍟

We seen that this location had opened back up. Well I think it should have stayed closed. Worst service I’ve ever seen in my life. We were ripped off. Paid extra for fries and they told us they had none. So our meals were 1 burger and 1 grilled cheese. How filling. Very unhelpful and told us that they didn’t really have any other sides to offer us and to dispute the charge with our bank. Really? Pathetic customer service. I’ll go spend my money at some other fast food place before I ever spend another dime here.
