So so. I hadn't been for a few years and it appears to have lost its charm a bit. I sat downstairs and it just felt like a fairly empty pub with a bunch of TVs showing the footy and really loud commentary.
I had a pie which came out in about 5 minutes which suggests it was pre made and just warmed up (and wasn't very hot). The rest of the menu was just standard pub food.
Guinness tasted good but that's all I had.
Staff were friendly and attentive and the upstairs area (where the toilets are) looked really nice and probably good in the evening.

The food and drinks were average but the venue is a nice place with beautiful decor to sit down with friends. We had the Sunday roast for $24 which were a generous portion and overall tasted ok. If I was to be particular, the Pork belly didn’t have a crispy skin (and pretty fat on the inside), the beef roast was a little dry on the inside and the Yorkshire pudding was a bit dense. We were feeling curious and tried the watermelon sangria which tasted a bit strange, maybe next time will stick with the usual pub beers. Service was friendly and overall I would say still a good experience.

Staff were extremely friendly. We were seated upstairs and the place had heaps of natural lighting, my friends and I all love the feel of the restaurant.
I had ordered the roast pork and my friends had the roast beef. Food I would not rate as high and not the best Sunday roast Ive had. Would definitely recommend if you're going there for a drink.

Took 45 minutes for them to bring out the wrong order and then once corrected, what arrived tasted like they had poured vegetables out of a bag from the supermarket and microwaved a dismal offering of halloumi. Not a glimpse of seasoning or flavour to be found. $22.

Nice spot in Surry Hills to have a drink, and perhaps a bite to eat. The evening we were there at the upstairs bar, there was a pig on a spit above the fireplace - okay, so maybe it wasn’t a whole pig, still the sight of roasting meat in the common bar area surrounded by comfy sofas was quite something to behold.

Great pub food with amazing outdoor deck sitting area. Trivia host was very friendly and easy-going though we did not really participate (thanks for the invite though!). However the other staff was surprisingly inattentive, no greetings or any other form of effective communication (pointed at the bar and asked us to order there in a not-so-polite tone and bar was unattended at that moment). Hopefully it’s just a one-off thing because we do want to visit again to try out other dishes and for the variety of beers:)

I didn't know what I was expecting when I ordered a corned beef sandwich... for some reason I thought it would be shredded beef rather than layers of cold meat. <br/>Although the portion size was big, I just didn't enjoy it as much. It is on the pricer side... about $17 or so for this. Looks good in the photo though.

Great pub to go to on the weekend. Been here a couple times now with my partner. I would say the best meal is the chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce. The chips that come with it are my favourite part, seasoned well, they are the best pub chips I have ever had. We have also tried the burger which is a good size but doesn't compete with the schnitzel. Good prices as well.

Trinity is a 10 minute walk from Central Station, but is a great place to have lunch. I ate with my colleagues and ordered the Mushroom Ravioli, it was perfectly made and had great flavour. Trinity bar has a bar area, outdoor seating area and an upstairs area. The ambience outdoors is very peaceful and it's a perfect place to have a cold beer.

One of the nicer pubs I have been too. Great little out door area and just a classic, nice pub inside. For a pub salad I was pretty happy! I had the broccolini and avocado salad. Quite generous serving and full of protein! My friends cauliflower burger looked delicious too. Staff were attentive and friendly.

The avocado was very brown and I had to remove the top layer so it looked semi-appealing enough to eat. And the egg...this is the first time I've tasted what must have been a pre-poached and then frozen and later defrosted egg. It was icy. Will not be eating here again.

Decent pub food, specialising in schnitzel parmas and fried chicken. Also good value and a nice corner location in between Crown Street's main restaurant blocks. I had a trademark chicken schnitzel with Monterey parmigiana - this consisted of black beans and guacamole. In truth there was maybe a little too much going on with this dish, but sometimes you just say 'What the hey'.

Apart from the terrible quality, foul tasting beef, the rest of the burger tasted quite nice.<br/><br/>I've had some of their other items, like the haloumi salad before and that was quite nice, so I was surprised at the burger.

Trinity Bar is a corner pub located in Surry Hills on Crown Street. We joined a group of friends here prior to heading for a dinner down the street. If possible grab a table in their beer garden section out the front - it gives you a great view of the street and a chance to people watch. The inside is set up like an English style pub, with the leather books and dark wood panelling along one wall and the cool decor. As we were only here for a quick drink prior to heading off we didn’t grab a bite to eat but the food coming out to other tables looked good. Will be back to try the menu and soak up the atmosphere of Surry Hills some more

I love the lemon lime and bitters here! Pimms was okay too. The buttermilk chicken was filling but average. I wish the sauce had more flavour. I felt like that was the let down of the dish. The chicken was nice and crisp and the bun was soft. The place also has outdoor seating and cute bookcases inside. They also have a space upstairs that would be suitable for functions.

Along Devonshire street within close distance to each other are four good local pubs - Strawberry Hills, Dove&Olive, Shakespeare and finally Trinity before you turn on to Crown street. It's hard to choose when you have so many options all distinctive in its own ways. The selling point for Trinity is it's outdoor seating on the corner. It is perfect for people watching on a balmy night or sunny afternoon. The food here is no competition to neighbouring D&O or Shakies in my opinion. But it does offer a big screen inside which is handy for sports event. We watched tennis here during Australian Open.

Friends birthday so we arrived around 8.30pm on a saturday. Went straight the the upstairs area which a bit smaller than downstairs. <br/><br/>We ordered the beef burger with chips. After the second bite i couldnt eat any more. It tasted funny like it was a bit off. <br/><br/>For dessert i got the waffle which was great so it helped restore some confidence back in the food. <br/><br/>Bar staff were friendly and helpful.

My goodness the lamb spaghetti bolognese was sooo good! It was actually my friend's dish so I only had a bit, but next time I'm there I know what I'm ordering! The jalapeno aoili which came with the onion rings was really nice too, but the rings themselves were average. Barramundi was very fresh so this too was a nice dish, but a little bland, however if you would like this can be easily fixed with a little extra seasoning.

Epic roast dinner on Sundays. Have been here on multiple occasions and have never been disappointed. Tonight we had the Christmas roast and I went for the nachos. They looked small but totally surprised me. Loaded with beautiful brisket filling. Delicious and just enough a good portion. Staff are very efficient and quite friendly. Last night, H and I headed out to Surry Hills for dinner and drinks. It was a highly anticipated meeting for both of us as, hence the multiple celebratory cocktails! Our first stop was at Essenza Italian, a cozy restaurant situated on the corner of Devonshire and Crown Streets. Our window seats ensured maximum natural light for nice photos. Marinated sicilian green olives Garlic bread My cosmopolitan, her mojito We both gravitated towards the gnocchi; I had the dish with prawns, vodka, olives, basil, cream and cherry tomatoes. I had never tasted a pasta this incredible, the gnocchi was pillowy and the prawns were absolutely moreish. This is the dish to come back for! H had a glorious one full of broccoletti, tomato, olives, pine nuts and lemon nut butter. I’m excited to try out Essenza’s other pasta offerings because I’m sure they are just as incredible. Then it got dark, so after tasting the complimentary cookies we made our way to the bar across the road.

I've been to Trinity bar many times, for good reason. Firstly, the staff are friendly and efficient. The food is consistently traditional pub meals, with good value specials depending on the day. It's a good place for a beer and watching the sport, inside in the vintage feel pub. I've been to a few functions upstairs which have never disappointed. Highly recommended.

I've had the pulled brisket nachos here - amazing! A deceptively small meal, the pulled brisket is substantial, soft and tasty. The guacamole is also generous. What looks like a good snack is a filling meal. Drink prices are reasonable and trivia night is pretty fun. The bar staff are relaxed and friendly, and generous - our group got a free jug at the beginning of the night, just for being there early. I'd like to try the pork belly burger next time.

Best Food and Trivia. We went to Trinity last night for the first time as we had heard from friends about the atomosphere on. Trivia night. We were not disappointed. <br/><br/>We were lucky to get a table as it was so busy. The Trivia host was a guy from London who was full of jokes and full of interaction. Great questions and lots of prizes given out.<br/><br/>The food was amazing I had the Guiness Pie which was just like momma used to make! Lamb Burgers at the Trinity Bar/Bistro. Hi there, <br/>A party of three of us decided to dine at the Trinity Bar for lunch this afternoon (Saturday 21/02 15) One of the party chose the nachos the other two (myself included) chose the lamb burgers. I was a little intrigued by the lamb which is initially why I chose it. Lamb can be rather bland unlike beef that is full flavoured and I was looking forward to how it was prepared and of course curious to taste it. The service was quick and efficient and before we knew it, our meals had arrived. The nachos went down a treat and my luncheon companion really enjoyed it, however the burgers were disgusting! I don't know what was on them or what was mixed in with the mince but I could not eat it - even the smell was putting me off. I ate the bacon and the part of the bun that it sat on and was not touching the meat, but I could not stomach the meat pattie.Even one of my companions who had a slight head cold could smell the meat when I held it up on my fork. I thought at first it was the spices mixed in with the meat but they were no spices I had ever smelt before. I come from a rural background where we grew our own beef and mutton (older version of lamb) my brother still has a feed lot where he exports cattle for the meat market so I know a litle bit of what I am taking about. I also NEVER buy a meal at a pub or restaurant and not finish it all - blame my parents for thumping the idea into me at an early age, that wasting food was not on. I simply could not finish this meal. I wished now I had said something to the waitress who came just as we left but it was probably unlikely she could do anything anyway. I thought you should know how I felt - I don't want to come back and have another meal at the Trinity Bar which is a shame; I have eaten there before and it has always been delicious. The burger with the bacon was $18.00 and my fellow burger eater I think paid $16.00 as his didn't include the add on. We literally had to go somewhere else and have a coffee to try and get the taste of it out of our mouths. I just thought you should know - maybe the lamb has been sitting too long in the freezer or maybe you need to try a different butcher.<br/>Regards,<br/>Matthew Friend

Local favourite. I love The Trinity - it is my local and has been for years. The staff have to be the best thing about the bar, so welcoming and will do anything they can for you. They look like they really enjoy working there which adds to the atmosphere. The food is amazing - I have never had a bad meal. My favourite would have to be the squid salad and the steak. Also there have been some really interesting new additions to the menu recently which have gone down a storm. Great place to bring friends, the drinks are flowing, great music and a good outdoor deck for the smokers. Shout out to the guys at the bar - Luke and Rhyse.

Great drinks and food. We had the squid with jalapeno aioli and the chicken schnitzel special. The chicken schnitzel(s) were huge and were real chicken as opposed to those chicken nugget styles. However the best was the squid! A generous portion for my $14 and the flavours were sensational. Very full on, but just beautiful, and very uncharacteristic of most squid dishes. The Green Tea Fairy cocktail was quite good, and the shooters were amazing! After a cocktail, two shooters and the schnitzel and squid we paid just $54. Highly recommend!

Always good in every way.. I have lived around the corner from the Trinity for the past 5 years & am a regualr there. The service & friendly staff would have to be up there with the best in Sydney. The food is consitently top notch and the servings are generous. The week night specials (around $10 or $12) are particularly good with a range of steaks, schnitzels & burgers. Being vegetarian, there are always numerous choices for me too. It is just an all round great place, would recommend it to anyone.

Monday, as I delightfully discovered, is $10 steak night at The Trinity Hotel in Surry Hills. Usually, any kind of $10 pub meal sends the blood in my veins icy-cold. You know the sort... Some trashy piece of rump steak that is as tough as a saddle and not nearly as flavoursome? This, however, was triumphant. A sirloin steak, tender and full of juice and grunt with chips and salad. Amazing Food and Service. Went there last Thursday with a group of mates and we were greeted by a very friendly young manager who managed to find us a table for six on a busy night very quickly. He sat us down and brought us over some menus, We ordered the daily deal on that night which was the chicken schnitzel for 12.50, bargain ! along with the BBQ ribs , chicken curry and beef and Guinness pie. The food here was amazing ! everyone in our group loved the food and we all had a great night there and we will definitely be coming back! The atmosphere and service here was second to none and will be highly recommending Trinity Bar to many others ! :)

Aside from the ideal location, the food isn't bad either - and by Surry Hills standards it's rather affordable. Plus - they have White Rabbit, my favorite Aussie beer, on tap - WIN! Some of our favorites on the menu have been the King Prawn Spaghetti ($22), the Little Creatures Beer Battered Barramundi ($20), the Cottage Pie ($17) and the Sirloin Steak (25). There are so many other delicious looking items on the menu that we've yet to try. They also often have daily specials - $10 Steaks on Mondays! Great bar. Very cool place for a drink. Funky tunes and great service. I was so impressed that they had drink trays for people to carry their round back to the table! Loved the wall of law books. We had a platter and it was good.

There are plenty of very fancy and expensive restaurants to choose from along Crown Street these days but if you're looking for something more reasonably priced to fill you up which is still decent quality then Trinity Bar might be a good option to check

This is my local and by far my favourite pub in Sydney. Everything on the menu is great but the I agree, the waygu burger is the best burger in Sydney!

Great local with good value meals. Monday night steaks for $10 are brilliant value. Try the wagyu burger which is one of the best in Sydney.
