Springfield Carriage

WOW!! We went to Springfield Carriage Co. Over the weekend. It was awesome. If you haven't been, it's in the Abraham Lincoln home area. In a old home converted into a restaurant. The waitress said it's a 180+ yrs old I think. And the first house in that area to be two story. There is outside dining downstairs as well as indoor dining downstairs. Same goes for the upstairs also. We ate on the upstairs balcony with a view of the Lincoln home area, it was really cool. Last week was 217 specialty horseshoe week so I had their special shoe it was amazing, the Mrs had the regular hamburger shoe, kids had burgers and chicken wrap. And of course I had to have a bite of all of it 😉 everything was excellent. I really really like this place great food good service and an awesome atmosphere!!!! Go check it out!!!!!

My word - what a pleasant surprise! We dined here for dinner and we loved our meals. I had the bourbon-glazed pork chop, my daughter had a cheeseburger and sweet potato fries, and my husband had his first “horseshoe”. If you have not had a Springfield horseshoe, let me say that there are a lot of ways this dish could go completely wrong. Springfield Carriage did everything right. My husband asked for the cheese sauce on the side since he only wants so much cheese on any dish. The fries were perfection and the cheese sauce was not overly heavy. The waitress was very helpful and kind. This is a unique dining experience and we would go back tomorrow. :-)

Best breakfast in Springfield. Perfectly cooked food, friendly staff and amazing history! The waitress told us the history of the house and shared the story of the building. Definitely need to check this spot out. Next time we’re in Springfield, we’ll be coming here for breakfast. Wish we would have found it earlier.

Great little place! Only 5 tables and there is a bar in the next room. We stopped by for lunch and then a couple of days later stopped for breakfast. The service is great. The food was really good. For lunch we has the Reuben with homemade fries. For breakfast the pancakes and they are huge and fluffy! Coffee was good and refilled frequently. We will definitely return!
