Stack

Saw photos of their mouth-watering sandwiches on Instagram and we were really excited to try. Unfortunately, the sandwiches looked better than they tasted – most disappointed by the dense bread that they use (the rye and sourdough were slightly better than the white pullman loaf). We also tried their bagel with rosemary butter (there’s an ongoing promotion with good coffee for $5.90); while it looked unassuming, it came warm and nicely toasted with crisped up edges, so perhaps they can do the same with the rest too (and maybe butter the bread prior to toasting). They’re only a week old though, so lots of room for improvement!

It's my second time having a go at their sandwiches (the first was Deliveroo!), and definitely feel there's room for improvement! My mum and I decided to walk to the cafe from Bugis MRT, and if you're not careful you might miss it because it's located as part of a co-working space Camelia & Co. (we spotted the Camelia & Co. signage first and totally missed the Stack sign inside). Upon stepping in the cafe, we were greeted super warmly by a very bubbly staff. She was wonderful with trying to recommend us some options and delivered great service so kudos to that! I had the Makcik which didn't taste as good as it sounds; meat didn't deliver the Rendang-ness that I hoped and was a little dry for my liking. The garlic bagel was nice though so at least that salvaged it a little. My mum ordered the Deli Alli which was pretty tasty from my one bite of trying it. We also had the Chilli Cheese Nachos as a snack; it was okay, would have been nicer if it was loaded with way more cheese and minced meat! Overall a nice quaint spot to chill in, but perhaps it needs more time to improve on sandwiches having a little bit more oomph to them.

The $2 add-on tortilla chips portion is so small (only have 4 pieces - 1pc $0.50), and that the bagel/sandwich portion is inconsistent among all my friends that had the same food. Also, they double charged us for the drinks that we have already paid (that’s $5). Not recommended, not going back anymore.
