Everything was a big portion and so good! The bbq was perfect I wasn’t expecting it to be so flavorful since most bbq places can be a hit or miss! The Smoked Rib Bites was a good amount for one person and if you think you’ll want to share you won’t! Pink Pickled Deviled Eggs were great as well I thought it would have that overpowered pickled vinegar-y taste and smell and it didn’t which was a bonus. BBQ Nachos we’re also great and they didn’t slack on the pulled pork as well. It was a lot of meat, with a good amount of black beans, caramelized onions, and sour cream. My friends invited me to barbecue night yesterday. I said no, but now I’m regretting it. That was a missed steak 🥩🤣

We walked into this place because the smell was that good. We weren’t even looking for barbecue. Our server was really cool and I think that was the best part. The most delicious dish we had was the fries and even though I am a fry fiend I’m not sure that’s a good thing. The grits were also delicious the slaw unfortunately had no flavor and the ribs were pretty dry. Pretty big bummer there but still giving it four stars because Experience was great and the few things we did enjoy were pretty dang good. My partner really loved the mac & cheese, I must add that.

My 1st review in over a year or more but after eating at Bitterroot BBQ aka MammothI felt guilty leaving and not. They have the best pulled pork sandwich I've had since I can remember. With 3 different kinds of house made BBQ sauce to choose from, for a steal of a price at $14 even before tax. With a very healthy portion of pork/ham, this sandwich does not disappoint. Very much looking forward to trying everything else on their menu! For a side I tried their cheddar grits, which were creamy perfectly cheesy, and cooked. They know what they're doing!!

We had a great experience with Bitterroot catering our reception! They were communicative and friendly, they offered their expertise based on working in the space (Cathedral) before, and our guests were commenting positively about the food all night! The restaurant I visited that specializes in BBQ exceeded my expectations. I ordered the pulled pork and smoked chicken, and was delighted with the generous portions. The meats were tender, flavorful, and expertly smoked. Accompanying my meal were a variety of delectable sides. The French fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned, while the cheddar grits provided a rich and creamy complement. The highlight, however, was the jalapeno cheddar cornbread, which added a delightful kick to each bite. The ambiance of the place was appealing, offering both indoor and outdoor seating options. I chose to dine indoors, enjoying the rustic decor and cozy atmosphere. The waitress was attentive and provided excellent service throughout my meal. One minor inconvenience was that they only accepted card payments, but this did not diminish my overall experience. In conclusion, this BBQ restaurant impressed me with its flavorful and plentiful offerings. The combination of succulent meats, generous sides, and attentive service made for a truly enjoyable dining experience. Whether you're a BBQ enthusiast or simply craving a satisfying meal, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Who knew you could get this good of BBQ in the heart of Ballard!? Did take out this time around and couldn’t be more pleased! They have so many non-traditional sides you don’t see at other bbq restaurants. Generous portions of meat that may require multiple sittings or a friend to finish. Everything tasted great and I had leftovers. Staff has always treated me well. They don’t have tons of sitting but enough for both indoor and outdoor. Last time I got pulled pork and I’ve also done the ribs - all have been good. Service is fast. Thank you! I’ll be back!

We have always liked the BBQ here, and the fried catfish, and the hushpuppies, well, just about everything I guess! We've been jonesing to get back, so we did take out tonight. Sitting in the warmth of our own place(I did see others enjoying the outdoor dining space, maybe next time), the pulled pork hit the spot. Just enough smokiness. Thank you Bitterroot for making it during this hard time.

Delicious would be the word I would use to describe Bitterroot! I eat here every time I'm in Ballard! The pulled pork sandwich is crazy good and they make a gourmet Mac and cheese that's amazing! It's located right next to the weekend farmers market as well. This makes for a great location to eat at while enjoying the market! It does get pretty busy, but is worth the wait if there is one. Definitely give it a shot your next stop in Ballard!

Legit BBQ. The pork shank was very tender, huge, and had a great sweet smoky flavor. The brisket was also tasty, among the best I've had. Coleslaw was bland, cornbread good but a little too crispy, baked beans on the overly sweet side, and cheesy grits were suuuuper cheesy and creamy. Nice atmosphere and attentive servers. Will return!

Came mid day on Sunday. Front was full, but ample seating at bar. Service was outstanding. On point and attentive. Beers were well chosen, and they had a varied selection. Sauces left me wanting. The mild one was too sweet and the hot wasn't too hot but vinegar came through a lot. I found a great mix of 1 part hot and 2 parts mild. Ribs were great. Absolutely great. Corn bread was salty and dryer than I normally like. BUT. Somehow it came together with the ribs and sauces to be exactly the right corn bread recipe. I really enjoyed it by the end of my meal. It was also cooked perfectly, despite not being to my taste when by itself. Baked beans were the only weak point. Depth of flavor was not there. They tasted like a weak simple syrup. Also, the beans had tough skin. They were like when you occasionally get an apple with tough skin. Resulted in a chewy experience. Not unpalatable. Just disappointing. Overall, an experience I am satisfied with. And they did several things very well. Edit: also! The table trays were great! They had toothpicks, wet wipes, extra napkins, and all the sauces. So often toothpicks and wet wipes are missing, but oh so crucial for bbq.
