Runway Grill

This place is pretty bad, even for airport food, and it illustrates how poor the food options are in the south satellite building at Seattle airport. I ordered a hamburger and cheeseburger right before my flight to Europe. Although the service was quite fast and friendly, the line to order was pretty long and they did not take credit cards on that particular day. The burgers were not very tasty, the beef was pretty dry and tasteless, the buns tasted a little old and there were not enough toppings. I did not like this place, but that being said it might be the only choice to get a quick burger or some fries before boarding a plane. They're also pretty expensive with a burger costing around $6.

I was in need of a warm meal and this was one of the few options I had in my particular terminal. I do like chicken strips and these were tasty. Not too heavily breaded, white meat. Came with dipping sauce (ranch!), a 20 oz. drink, and fries. The fries were completely unsalted and several of them were abnormally long...your guess is as good as mine. For what it is, it hit the spot.

If I could, I would give this place 2 1/2 stars. We were at the S Gates waiting for our flight early in the morning and wanted breakfast. This was the only place I saw that had breakfast sandwiches. This place was actually decently priced, less than $5 for a breakfast sandwich. There was a long line, just like at every other food establishment at these gates and one worker. I saw other people's negative reviews. I'm not sure what they were expecting. There were not that many choices at the S Gates for food. Maybe because I didn't have high expectations, I didn't think my bacon biscuit sandwich was bad. I mean it wasn't great, but that wasn't a surprise. Overall, not my first choice but decent.

The lady first asked whether I wanted the burger only. I first said yes but immediately changed my mind, but she separately added the drink and fries (overcharging me by 82 cents). She's flippantly says it's because she couldn't cancel the burger (is there no cancel button?). I asked her why she couldn't cancel the burger and ring it again and she just says because you wanted the burger first... Eventually (after around 5~10 minutes) the mgr came out (she apparently didn't want to come out and had a dour look). She comes to the register and says she can't give me the difference because the register is locked! Then next she asks for the credit card and reverses and reauthorizes with the right price. The first cashier is constantly saying he just ordered a burger in the background of all this. Absolutely the worst customer service ever!
