If I had known the Scranton area better, I would've chosen to eat dinner here with my husband rather than our 2 toddlers too. We felt out of our element but the welcoming staff totally alleviated that feeling. So they enjoyed their first upscale dining experience! They loved drinking lemonade from the fancy glasses and eating spaghetti and meatballs. Our waiter was awesome and attentive and all of our food was delicious! We'll be back! What an asset to the quaint downtown Scranton area.

Great food and service. We Always have a good time here. Their appetizers are all very good, especially their arancini, which is excellent. We just ate there recently and I had one of the best salmon dishes I've eve had. I rarely do this, but it was so good that I ordered it again when we went back a few days later. Their lamb special was excellent too. And they're also very good about helping you with dietary concerns. Excellent food and staff! We highly recommend The AV Restaurant!

The atmosphere and service was great. The food on the other hand was mediocre. We got the meatballs, shrimp and octopus for appetizers - the octopus was too chewy to really eat, the meatballs were dense (tasted frozen) and the shrimp was fine. We also got a couple of the pasta entrees which were okay. Honestly pretty disappointed in the food. Wouldn’t return there are better options in the area.

Where to start... first of all the staff is incredible. Everyone from the hosts to the bartenders and waitstaff make you feel like home. I've eaten here an innumerable amount of times at this point and have enjoyed so many great meals. There have been some misses here and there but anytime I wasn't satisfied was handled appropriately. Secondly, I've played here as a musician on Jazz nights pre-covid and the owners and bar staff treat you like a customer, not like a lesser human which happens at places. Out of everywhere I eat in the Scranton Area this place is the only one I always get excite to eat at. See you soon Amanda, Pat, Josh, Tom and everyone else on the staff.

A great atmosphere. The exposed brick and metal ceiling tiles add to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. The staff was knowledgeable and courteous rounding-out the fine dining experience. The food is delicious and one can tell that no corners were cut in the preparation of the meal. Reasonable prices on food and drink make this a place you can enjoy not only on a special occasion.

The service was great at the table. Hostess wasn't the warmest human being on the planet but boy did Julie my server made up for it! She was a true food and beverage hospitality professional! She's worth requesting too I was observing the other waitstaff & they're not even in her league! The food was good! I didn't expect Scranton to have such a great offering. New American but you can see the Chef has been trained to execute Italian in the French style. Great flavors, proper portions, excellent service (If you have Julie) .

I had several bad experiences at the old location in Moosic but have since amended my review for the new spot in Scranton. The menu is not terribly extensive but is executed well. The bar area is beautiful and the drinks complex and delicious. The clientele and price point is slightly more upscale than other places in the area. Sometimes patrons will get a bit too "animated" after a few drinks, making it hard to hear or enjoy your meal. Definitely a great date night spot or a place to meet friends for an after-work cocktail.
