New Empress

We keep passing this restaurant, but never actually went in to dine until last night. We went on a Tuesday evening, so the restaurant was fairly quiet. It is a nice restaurant with friendly service. Food was nice, good serving size and good value. On the night we ordered Prawn toast, sizzling beef, Shantung Chicken and deep fried ice-cream.

I've been going to this restaurant for over 20 years. Food is always fresh and good. I have built up a repore with the waiters who are always there and are friendly with great service. The restaurant is large so you can block off half for a function with dance floor available. Menu is extensive . They also have a disabled stair lift if required. Plenty of parking. There is no reason to go anywhere else.

Nice restaurant. Service was very good and friendly. Food was good and affordable. More of a westernised Chinese restaurant rather than a traditional, but then again this was our first visit and I let the kids do the ordering. Nice to be able to find parking easily as well. We'll definitely be back again.

Yesterday the 22nd of April 2022, it was my birthday and during the week, I made a booking for a top of the range banquet MAINLY for its crabs which is $55 per head. The next day, I again reconfirmed that everything was in order as I wanted everything to go smoothly for my guests and myself. On that evening ,we arrived at the restaurant and my guests knew that crabs would be on the table. To our disappointment, I waited and waited and the crabs never arrived. So, I asked Rose(the senior waitress in charge)about the crabs and she told me that the crabs are only in the banquet of $55 per head which I had confirmed twice two days before. Rose argued with me that I had booked for the middle of the range banquet which is $42.80 per head. So she brought the record showing my order and it was shown that order on a printed paper that it was $42.80 per head banquet whichwas scribbled over by pen and written $55.00. Rose by then saw that it was their mistake and stopped arguing and she offered me to bring in the crabs towards the end of the dinner if I paid separately for the crabs to our disappointments. Of course we refused when desserts were about to be served. The least thing we all thought was that she would compensate me for their mistakes but no such thing happened
