Cracker Barrel

I ordered to go and was given the smallest portions of the broccoli cheddar chicken and peach cobbler. Since this menu item is not offered everyday I was really looking forward to my dinner. But the portions were so small it left more to be desired. And to add there was mold on the fruit I received. I’m not sure who dropped the ball here but they should be ashamed!

I hail from cities. All my life. Wife and I went up to the “sticks” to this establishment and had my stereo typical preconceived perceptions. How ignorant of me. The folks here are super, super friendly. Attentive to your needs and a group of very hard working-folks. The food was superb. Those biscuits are addictive and the ‘fixings’, round the breakfast out wonderfully. Be sure to try their flapjacks and syrup. Their country fried steak is very tasty and filling. Coffee is just right! Do yourself a favor and do breakfast or lunch with these guys. You won’t regret it.

25 minute wait for a table. No big deal it was lunch time. 40 minutes for food. That a bit crazy for pancakes and a potpie. Our server saw us 3 times. One time to take the order. One time give us drinks. One time when the food came out. Never saw her again. No drink refills. I had to find another server (who was very nice) to get the check after waiting for 15 minutes after we finished eating. The pancakes were good. The potpie was edible. Schedule 2 hours if you are eating lunch here. Note: the people that arrived before us got their food a good bit after us.

I love the Cracker Barrel because they are consistently great on all levels. I ordered a grilled chicken salad which was delicious, my favorite thing to do is to order two corn muffins with it and crumble them over my salad and then top it off with their wonderful honey mustard dressing. This time I got my order to go. The wait-person took my order and made sure it was all put together including a large tea and delivered to me in a timely and friendly manner! I will be back!!!

Not my best experience. Went in to place an order. Chicken and dumplings dinner with mashed potatoes, brown gravy and turnip greens and a bowl of turnip greens(meal size). The person who took my order was nice. However, I wasn't called when my order was ready so it set on a shelf, the girl at the counter told me that she forgot to call my name on the intercom (I asked because I was waiting outside and the truck traffic off the interstate was so loud you couldn't hear the intercom.) Then she checked my order and verified all was as ordered. I was very tired so I went home without checking the order myself (after all, she verified that it was all correct looking into the bag and moving the items) so imagine how upset I was when I got home and my order was wrong (bowl of pinto beans instead of turnip greens (this is not a side dish order but a meal sized order.)) So I called the store from my cell phone.Either the phone wasn't working or someone was hanging up on me when I called the 1st 5 times (no kidding, my cell phone tracks outgoing calls) Finally got through and was told I would have to hold a moment for a manager..eight minutes later I finally spoke with a manager. I explained that my ticket showed the correct items but the order was incorrect (details above). I asked if she could adjust my bill as I didn't receive what I ordered. She told me that she could have done that if it was an online order but couldn't since I actually came in the store and ordered it (WTH?) She did say the next time I was there they would give me a meal. Haven't decided if I will go back or not. Life is too short for all that frustration. I will say that I definitely won't be ordering take out from this particular store again. If you do, please personally check each item of your order before leaving the store.
