Greeted on entry and sat right away. The location is small and dark with Japanese pop music playing. You order beer and or sake, and a bunch of small plates. They give u a snack on the house which is raw cabbage which u dip in a soy sauce and garlic mixture. Which was really good. We had the house sake which was hot. It was smooth and reasonably priced. The food was fast and tasty. We tried a variety of their food from Seafood to their izakaya grilled meats. Cool Japanese pub feel.

Overall horrible service. The story was I ordered salmon salad but salmon sashimi was served. During the time I went out for buying a bubble tea for my wife, the wrong food was served and my wife did not really pay attention toward what I ordered, she ate one piece of sashimi; when I returned and made the complaint toward another manager lady, she grabbed the waitress who served the wrong food, the waitress admitted that she accidentally served the wrong food by saying “yeah yeah yeah, I served wrong food” then her communication stopped there, but her tone really sounded like it’s my fault or it’s not big of a deal by serving some similar food. Then the manager lady kept saying that we already ate one piece with a horrible attitude. I never even expected them to swop or refund me, just wanted to clarify that I ordered salmon salad, all I want from them is just pay more of attention, that’s it, if the waitress can’t remember what I ordered by memory then just write it down on a piece of paper. All of them really made it sound like it’s actually my fault for making a complain when they served the wrong food. My worst experience ever, been a loyal customer at this restaurant for 10 years, will never go there again.

Eating here consistently would put poor Poo in poverty... this place is not easy on your wallet and you definitely pay the Richmond premium here. Despite that, the food and drink selection is really good, with plenty of great sake to choose from like Dassai. PP absolutely loved the sashimi platter, especially the Akami which was so fresh and firm. The skewers, like the fried intestines, were nice and crunchy, not chewy, and the bacon wrapped quail eggs 1st class. Even better than Zakkushi’s and that’s saying something! Great food, good service, but unfortunately overpriced to make this a regular visit 💸

Great izakaya place to hang out with friends. Not the most traditional taste but won't fail you either. Orders came out in timely manners, inclusive of add on orders. Lots of Japanese sake to choose from, but it may get really pricy. Friendly and attentive services. Overall, I will like the place more if they mark down the menu price.

Great izakaya place! We came on a Thursday night and it was not busy. Service was attentive and prompt. Everything was very tasty especially the deep fried baby octopus! You gotta try. Great dishes to go with beer. Love the interior. Made me feel like I was in Japan. Only downside is that it's on the pricier side.

This is a fantastic Izakaya joint. They have terrific skewers (beef tongue and bacon wrappers asparagus are great). They have multiple tofu dishes, cold and warm noodles, rice plates, sushi and more. Beer/liquor selection is ok with a focus on asian liquors. The free tea is tasty but their juice drinks are ok as well. Parking is from the back or paid street parking. On busy nights this fills up quickly. Limited seating and they can only handle small groups unless you get the two sectioned off tables at the front. Transit is close but the Canada line is several blocks away.
