Susie's Deli

This place has become a young person hot spot for karaoke and weekend DJ sets. The rooftop is a nice escape from the music if you need it. The bar also has a very solid whiskey and scotch selection at really good prices. Drinks are very reasonably priced. I haven't had any food here but it looks solid.

BLT experience - BLT was fantastic. Bread was white, toasted perfectly. Not too brown, but just tan enough. Mayo was spread evenly on all 4 corners on both slices of toasted bread. Volume of mayo was also perfect and consistent on both sides. The tomato and lettuce complimented the smokey bacon and mayo making it a nice smokey but sweet combination. The bacon was crunchy but not hard....just right. And of course had the toothpick on there. Still searching for the world's best BLT though.

We came across this restaurant while walking around the area. At the start I was just here to get a few drinks and keep exploring. I ended up asking for a menu and was looking to get the chopped cheese sub. I also saw the sailor sandwich and asked the bartender for her recommendation. She steered me in the right direction getting the Sailor. The flavor was really good even though slightly messy because of how the sausage was placed. I can see why they are known for this sandwich because the combination of meats worked well. The service was attentive and we did not have to wait on drinks. I will be sure to come back here and recommend.

Food is pretty good, especially when it's not too busy. Brunch menu is cool, and the sandwich selection is great but not a bunch of substantial vegetarian options and I couldn't find any fish on the menu. Pretty awesome bloody Mary's and interesting cocktail selection. Usually gets crazy busy around dinner and during weekend bar service/events. Solid option if you're walking around carytown though.
