The Cookhouse

I am often in Shasta County for work and I was fortunate to be Emily guest for dinner on May 13, 2022. I was looking forward to this experience and made sure my busy work schedule could accommodate my visit to The Cookhouse as I was privy to all the hard work that Emily put forth to aid the place in opening back up. I have experienced Emily’s service at another restaurant in town and it has always been exceptional. This time was no exception. Emily’s service was excellent and she made the atmosphere at The Cookhouse much more enjoyable. Unfortunately, it is my understanding that she has been let go for what I understand to be an arbitrary reason. For this reason, I do not intend to return to The Cookhouse. It is the people that make a place enjoyable and not the place itself. The Cookhouse has lost a great person and a customer.

Spectacular views of Shasta Lake in a beautiful restaurant setting.. Britt was the quintessential perfect bartender. The food was very good and prices were very reasonable... For a serious tourist getaway.... In California! With low water. I always stay close by when I come through here. Thank you Clyde with Boattransport 👍

Although location and atmosphere is pleasant it being 2022 I didn't realize racism was a normal thing for this company to put forward but isn't unusual for people to have entitlement once they start getting business till other people start to opening their eyes and they get shut down I'm writing this to let other people know how they will be treated so that they don't make a mistake in driving there just to have to be surrounded by people that are gonna be fake we all need to grow up this isn't high-school money is money regardless of the color it comes from I hope one day karma will show u how u should present yourself when it comes to managing a "respectable " business.who knows maby they can stay open for more than just a couple months at a time if management can learn the basics of equity or not I don't care honestly kinda sad.
