Thai Cafe

I was staying at the hotel across the bridge and this place was close, and reviews were decent. Got the chicken pad Thai, papaya salad, and some fried egg rolls, for pick up. When I picked it up, service was great. I'd asked for very spicy on both the salad and pad Thai. They were both mild. Strike one. Unfortunately, Pad Thai was nothing to talk about: dry noodles with some spices. Strike two. The papaya salad was horrible, looked old rather than crispy and fresh, and tasted like an old sock smells, took one bite, and had to toss it. Strike three. Egg rolls were, well, egg rolls. Obviously I'm not making a second visit. Bummer. I really wanted to like this place.

I’ve been a huge fan of Thai Cafe since I tried them at their original restaurant in Red Bluff- And was so stoked when they opened one in Redding. Best Thai food I’ve ever had and one of my favorite places to eat out at locally. I always order my food mild but I know others who order medium or hot and have never been disappointed with the flavor. It’s definitely different from any other Thai food I’ve had but in a good way. I always order the salad and the sweet chicken and have never had any complaints other than the peanuts can sometimes taste off but not enough to ruin the dish.

I celebrated my PhD this evening in this excellent restaurant. happy to tell that we enjoyed a sensational evening and the venue was clearly one of the reasons for that outstanding evening. The waiters helped in a gorgeous style, the food was great and my buddies were extremely cheerful. We shall surely come back again for more celebrations. thanks very much.

always a good experience when I eat here. I love the evil Prince. it's a bit spicy but yummy. also the Thai green soda is delicious! it's neat to see the set up with all the offering to their ancestors and such laid out everyday. (fresh fruit and whatnot.) I love the sticky rice with peanut sauce. soooo good!!
