This pub I visited the 3 hand pumped ales on offer were well kept but lacked the plink plink yes factor doom bar and Mitchell and Butlers big breweries and this was sad
The pub had a great old interiors to it the local following was great as was bar staff tonight easy listening back ground music
If beers would have been more interesting 5 stars would have been given

Used to be my local years ago. I am pleased to report it is still a great pub with a friendly atmosphere and with a good choice of beers.

This is by far one of the friendliest, cosiest and most pleasant pubs out there. They have weekly quizes and poker nights. If your new to the area and looking for a nice community pub then I highly enough.

Possibly the friendliest pub in Ramsbottom. Great hosts. Lovely food. Everything you could ask for in a local. EDIT; New Landlord, only been in once. Seems to have lost a but if its "zing" but will definitely give it another try, eventually.
Another Edit (June 2022): They now have a nice outside bar with plenty of seating. Will be great in the summer. Had live music outside for the Jubilee. Good stuff.

After trying several pubs in Ramsbottom for dinner to no avail we popped into the Major for a drink. The staff were so nice and we ordered food no problem. The steak and kidney pie was fabulous as was the Sunday roast. I think it was the landlady who thanked us as we left she was so nice and I would highly recommend this pub. I used to go in all the time before lockdown but I will deffinately be back . Thanks so much for your hospitality.

Lovely traditional pub in the lovely town of Rammy. Sam & the whole team are so friendly and welcoming and really can't do enough for you, the children and even the dog! There is a great choice of beers & ales, the food is all great quality and fantastic value for money & there is always something happening from football, quiz nights & great live music. We love this place and would highly recommend a visit!

Favourite pub to go to! all the staff are very friendly and the food and drink is perfect and affordable. Massively improved since previous owners and now has a great vibe. Wouldn’t choose to go anywhere else.

Fantastic pub. Very friendly efficient staff, great real ale and food. So happy it is now open again after lockdown as it has a real community spirit and i have missed seeing everyone. Thursday Poker night is up and running again . Thanks to you all.
