Sumisu

Oh my gosh. If you haven't eaten here yet, you're missing out on some phenomenal food. Our server, Angie, was amazing. It was our first time not only visiting Sumisu, but also eating sushi. Angie was amazing at finding out what we liked and didn't like, then recommended amazingly delicious dishes. I tried the Tiny Dancer with salmon and instantly fell in love. Seriously. BEST. FOOD. EVER. I've been recommending them to everyone. ❤

Best sushi I've had. EVER. the sushi chef spent his time chatting with us while he was preparing our rolls. Super friendly. Very patient with our young kids. This place was so good that I'm pretty sure that all other sushi is ruined for me. Hands down the best. Two thumbs waaaaay up. Thank you Daniel son!

One of the best places for sushi in Pocatello! If you're looking for a more modern sushi with solid roots in traditional sushi, this is it! The chefs have brought their expertise to bring interesting ingredients together with honed technique and skill. Thanks to the western ingredients that are at their fingertips, the sushi does tend to have a spicy kick, so do be aware of that. Not everything is spicy but do be aware that there are many parties for your tastebuds to enjoy.

Server was very nice and kind. They were attentive and understanding. I ordered the tonkatsu bento with tempura, miso and spicy tuna roll. Only the miso was edible, and the tonkatsu was dry. Same with the tempura and the sushi. I mentioned it to the server and they went to speak with management who just cut the price in half despite a few bites. The server was not the issue, nor the chef. Management needs to step it up and do better so issues like this don't crop up. I don't mind paying for food uneaten but seven dollars for half a bowl of miso seems excessive. I hope management can improve in the future.
