Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe

I started eating here at 12 with my dad for breakfast, am 49 and simply have to eat here every time I come back. The hot dogs are the best, and chili/cheese fry with some vinegar hits the spot. Somehow the bun is so fresh and soft/warm. The prices are so cheap, esp compared to FL. Great milkshakes. The hamburger is one of a kind, well was 15 years ago and copied now. I have eaten here over 150x in my life and is honestly the only place I buy hot dogs. Darlington location rocks! West Pgh a little run down but still tasty, had it 3x a few weeks ago. Daughters LOVED it too.

The food is rather good If you go in the early morning through the afternoon the atmosphere is wonderful and very hospitable If you go later on in the day it seems like the employees don't care much Overall I've had good and bad experiences here when I go during the day for lunch or breakfast always a warm welcome Go later on today the employees there just don't seem to care However the food is delicious

Fast food prices, but food quality that at least matches that of most pizza joints and smaller restaurants in the area. Their burgers are fantastic and the toppings they use rival In-N-Out Burger's in freshness. Their hotdogs are great but their chili cheese dogs are even better. Make sure you grab a milkshake when you visit, too. I prefer chocolate but apparently peanut butter is legendary. I've gone 33 years in the Pittsburgh area ignorant to Hot Dog Shoppe but now I've seen the light and I've been making up for lost time by eating it three times a week 😎
