Shingle Inn

This is one of a chain of cafes. The menu is fairly standard. The portions are small and the prices are a little on the high side. The food is good though. You need to order at the counter. The drinks always seem to arrive after the meal, which is a little unusual. Also, I suspect that the "large" coffee mug is exactly the same size as the "regular". The "large" is taller but not as wide. Hmmm? I think it's a conspiracy.

Stopped by here with my boyfriend and ordered Avocado Smash, size was good and avaocado was generous and delicious. Nice window view. We ordered smoothies and they were quite nice, but nothing amazing (boyfriend loved banana smoothie). Waitress who looked after us was helpful and polite. However, my boyfriend ordered a steak sandwhich and the steak was too chewy so he didnt enjoy that as much.

Very lovely staff, which is always quite important for a cafe! Have been here many many times and never had a bad experience :) They have awe-inspiringly big bowls you can get of coffee - never had such a big mocha in my life! (Of course they have reasonable sizes too for those times you don't need a flowing river of coffee). Their booths are nice and comfy, and they've often got really nice cakes too! Always happy to come here. They deserve every success :)

The staff are all very courteous and polite great place for coffee and a bite to eat, love to sit and read in there and they don't rush you. Young girl on Thursday afternoons always smiles and ask if I'd like a glass of water with my order, thank you, nice touch. Avocado smash is good, highly recommended
