After reading all the raving reviews against better judgement we sat down in an empty restaurant hoping for a great experience. Unfortunately our instincts were correct. We ordered the lamb shank, Giza plate and hot chips. Mostly disappointed. The lamb shank arrived first on its own, and it wasn’t until we finished the lamb shank, sharing amongst the table did the hot chips arrived. Lamb shank in itself was well flavoured and tender, mixed review on its combination with the rice and crunchy bits. Half of the table liked the combo and the other half not a fan. But we did find hairs in the dish... The other main Giza plate arrived last and given the time it took we had high hopes and the charcoal meats were dry and inedible. Not a fan at all. The salad side was very nice and so was accompanying dip. Given the empty restaurant and many staff standing around not sure why our main arrived far apart. We asked for bread and it arrived after we finished the meal, and got charged for it.

We had our Christmas party at Egypt Eats the other day. Despite the number (over 50 people), Mohammed and his team managed to pull it off right from the word go. Great middle eastern food with the Egyptian twist and fabulous service, we all had a great time. Portions were very generous and the quality and taste were top class. I’m now planning for another visit to Egypt Eats, this time with my family.
